Other clubs transfer news (home and abroad)

Nwaneri is apparently refusing a new contract as he wants guaranteed minutes.

Chelsea are trying their best to sign him up as fourth choice RW.

I know a top PL team waiting for a RW to be first choice in two years time. Requires moving to the Northwest though

Man C?

I know you're not talking about us? Because based on last season we're going to line up with 10 men when Salah is away during the AFCON.
And when he decides to leave we're gonna retire the RW position and just put a no.11 shirt on the grass on the right side of the pitch.

Chelsea won’t rest until they own about 40 young wingers. What a unique project.

Heard rumours city and us were interested in him as well

Like, I don't mind madueke, but he's not kicked on from his time at PSV (?). He's 23 and still looks raw with iffy decision making

Selling him is paying for gittens. And gittens is at least 18 and raw

In other news, they have now signed that mountain loving Basque cunt for what it seems to be the 5th time in the last 6 months
hope he flops like harry kane in the box

it’s tough to judge high scoring strikers from worse leagues. do you get henrik larsson or alfonso alves? i’m sure the data guys have at least half a clue.

Wouldn’t go for both. Feels like a similar sort of striker, and already have Gakpo. Would go for Ekitike and a wing forward.

I don't mind this if honest - people have their own way to deal with realities they choose for themselves, and maybe that *was* his reason last year but he made it up ... who knows ... If they're going to be top 4 again, I do hope it's at trophyless* 2nd place finish behind us again.

*besides another 3-0 win over Madrid trophy. They can have that with pleasure again.

It'll be the money above all IMO. We weren't signing players of the calibre of Mbeumo or Cunha before Klopp arrived.

When we signed Mane, I would say he was similar premier league standing to both of those players. Looked a cut above, in an overperforming team. Not saying either will go on to elevate their career like Mane did (but who knows!) - however I think that's a great comparison.

Gyokoeres close to a move to Arsenal. Still think he’s a trap. Sesko would be better for them.

Agreed. Of all the strikers on the market, he is the one I want Arsenal to buy. He's 27 so arguably at his peak and will decline soon. He's never played in this league. 50% of his goals last season were penalties (will he take over from Saka on pens?). He looks to struggle against physically imposing CBs.

If they got a Sesko, they'd have someone who might grow and develop into a top player but they are signing someone who is already at his ceiling.

They're going "win now", which they've not been doing in recent years.

If it doesn't pan out then it could be hilarious

Agreed, and he also scores a lot of his goals in transition with space to run in. Arsenal are usually up against a low block in the PL.

75-80 % of his goals was against the mid to lower teams in the Portuguese league which can’t be much better than league One teams.

Wow Gyokeres scored 19 penalties last season out of 39 total! It's a real outlier though cos apparently he only has 34 in his whole career. Generally he hasn't been particularly reliant on them.

But if you go back before that he was a 1 in 3 striker in the Championship. I don't see him as a 70m marquee signing who they might be looking to ship on in 2 seasons time if he comes in and is a 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 in the PL man. Let's see. I'd obviously prefer them not to sign him at all, but of some of the mega options out that he seems to have the greatest 'flop' risk
