I love the build up to the footie kick-off and, as I love lower league football, that means the kick off is this weekend.

Anone got any bets yet?

I've got a very speculative £10 laying United to finish in the top 6. I know it's hugely unlikely but the Moyes factor makes them a complete unknown and given their tough opening fixtures who know what could happen. I win £200 if successful.

Other bets include..................

£25 MK Dons to win 1st division @ 14/1
£60 Pompey to win 2nd Division @ 9/2 (I rarely back short priced favourites to win leagues and it's usually a good policy but I do have a strong feeling that they'll win at a canter.
I've got no idea when it comes to the Championship, it's such a tight division but I think I might end up plumping for Reading.

I've had a few small bets so far.

Oxford to win League 2 @18.5

Jack Midson to be League2 top scorer @20

Preston to win League 1 @16s

Clayton Donaldson to be League 1 top goalscorer@18s although I've recently read that Leigh Griffiths is coming back to Wolves which threw a spanner in to my works.
Griffiths is far too good a player for League 1 and if he stays fit he could easily score over 30 goals this season.

Jordan Rhodes to be Championship top scorer at 9s.

Backed no team to win the Championship yet but Blackburn,Qpr and Charlton are all tempting prices to me but i'll leave it until a few weeks before I decide.

Some decent bets there Leo; I like the look of Preston, if they can keep kevin Davies and Iain Hume fit they could be the most potent forard partnership in the league. I also think Chris Humphrey, who they signed from Motherwell, is a cracking signing and I'm very surprised he didn't go to a Championship club.

Donaldson's an enigma, scores the difficult ones but misses so many sitters, I'm not so sure he'll ever score enough though to be top goalscorer. I wouldn't worry too much about Leigh Griffith because, if he's as good as we both think he is, he'll be off by Xmas.

Oxford are also a very good shout in the 2nd, Kitson will rip this league up and with Constable beside him they're gonna be scoring plenty. Mullins at the back is also an excellent signing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they challenge strongly this season.

Do you do any top goalscorer bets Pesam?
I'm trying to find a gem in one of the leagues across England and Scotland.
Anyone tickle your fancy?

I usually speuclate a few quid on top goalscorer although; I never bet much and I never back anyone under 20/1. The reasons are obvious enough; I never back under 20/1 because the chances are that anyof the favourites could be sold at any minute (to a team from a different league) if they hit a good run of goalscoring form thus ruining the bet. I never bet much because an injury can screw you up at anytime.

For instance in The Championship I'd fancy LeFondre @ 12/1 but if he hits 15 by Xmas I'm sure one of the struggling teams in the EPL will make a move for him.

I've gone for James Vaughan (Huddersfield) @ 65/1

I think Nakhi Wells 25/1 will score shitloads for Bradford BUT I can't see him staying in the 1st division all season so I'll give him a miss and I've gone for Shaun Miller (Sheffield United) 65/1. The problem with Miller is that Sheffield United don't realise how good he is, everytime he started for them last season he seemed to score but they usually had him as sub. I reckon he'll get a proper chance this season.

I haven't back anyone yet in the 2nd division but according to my Racing Post pre-season guide (whose predictions for the season are a shit as ever) you can get 100/1 at corals for matt McClure (wycombe) to be top goalscorer! IMO he should be 33/1 at best, if he stays fit he'll hit at least 20.
