I don't want to say it, but I'm definitely thinking it.

Nunez played a whole season, AC rarely played the whole 90m, so where is the relevance? If Man U want to offer Mendes £30m, Nunez £150k a week and Benefice £100m, I's rather we walk away. It takes a huge chunk out of Man U's budget.

I hope we do it, and soon…

Liverpool have reached an agreement over personal terms with Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, though no deal has been struck with the Portuguese club as of yet.
Nunez has emerged as the Reds’ primary candidate in the search for a Sadio Manereplacement, with reports of interest in the 22-year-old intensifying this week.

Any deal for the Uruguayan would shatter Liverpool’s transfer record, but that is a risk they are willing to take to sign a player who scored 34 goals in 41 games for Benfica last season.
It had been claimed in the Portuguese media that a contract had already been sketched out with Nunez, and The Athletic now report that personal terms have been agreed.
David Ornstein and James Pearce describe the club as having “moved a step closer” to signing the No. 9, with it already reported that Nunez himself favours a switch to Anfield.
However, they maintain that “nothing has been signed with the player and there is no agreement in place between the clubs” at this point.
But agreeing personal terms, at least informally, is a big indicator that a deal will come to fruition in the near future, with sources on Merseyside, including the Mirror‘s David Maddock, claiming a structured deal worth around £85 million is expected.

Liverpool are likely to commit to paying £68 million in instalments, with a further £17 million to be paid if Nunez reaches various attainable targets during his time with the club.
Virgil van Dijk remains the club’s club-record signing following his £75 million move from Southampton in 2018, but it appears that will not stand much longer.

If a player really wanted to join us, he'd just it's either Liverpool or no one.

He'll end up at united now, as is always the case when my hopes get raised

I don't think we can fail here.

If he comes, he'll get better and be a success.

If he ends up at United, we can justify it by saying he's had his head turned by the cash so wouldn't have been a good fit. He'll probably do ok with them, but they have bigger problems that scoring goals.

According to the Portuguese media. That's exactly what he's said to the club.

It's his agent trying to cash grab more from the selling club which is holding it up. He wants €8.5m

They're also saying that Utd now have made a higher bid than us. If true, not good.

News from the matt is Utd are deffo in for him and all of this has been orchestrated by Mendes. LFC (and particularly Klopp, Ward, Edwards, FSG) hate this kind of agent posturing. Benfica and more importantly the player himself are fine about the deal on the table. Mane to Munich has absolutely no bearing on this. BUT Mendes is not popular with the LFC hierarchy, and they don't like being fucked around. A potential problem but still cool. Hold.... HOld..... HOLd....HOLD!!!!!!

As if your yoga teacher is called Matt

Well Nunez has apparently told his agent he wants CL football.

And Utd have apparently said they are not going into a bidding war.

Which means it's bullshit, and they have potentially matched our offer.

He's also started the usual trend these days.. following our players on social media to indicate where he wants to go.
