Aqua to Fiorentina

Well done Rafa.

I guess the report about us trying to get rid of 500k off the weekly wage bill could be true. That's Maxi, Kuyt, Aurelio and Aqua gone, so...

i really like aqua, but for those wages id expect a player who regularly scores, creates and personally deepthroats every season ticket holder thrice a game

I'm a bit baffled by it too.

On the BBC now as well:

Liverpool accept Alberto Aquilani offer from Fiorentina
Liverpool have accepted an undisclosed offer from Fiorentina for Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani.
The 28-year-old has flown to Italy from the Reds' pre-season tour of the United States to complete his move.
Liverpool are likely to step up their attempts to sign Swansea's Joe Allen if the deal proceeds as expected.
Aquilani has failed to settle at Anfield since signing in 2009 for £20m from Roma and has been on loan for the last two seasons.
His stints at AC Milan last term and Juventus in the 2010-11 season mean he did not play for former Reds' managers Kenny Dalglish and only made two appearances for Roy Hodgson.
And despite having two years' left on his contract and completing pre-season under new boss Brendan Rodgers, it appears that his time at Liverpool is coming to a conclusion.
Rafael Benitez brought Aquilani to Anfield as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, but he struggled with injury and made 26 appearances in his first season.

Barrett saying the same thing regarding his contract, not 140.000 but that its a lot

"The situation with Alberto is simple," said Rodgers in the Daily Mirror. "I have wanted to assess him over the first few weeks of training.
"Over the course of the next week, I will make a decision on what's going to be best for us, whether he will be useful for the group or whether it's best for him to move on."

He's off before the end of the week.

Question for those who believe we're getting 7m.

If the only other bid was in the region of 1-2m, and we were willing to sell him for 5m which was the release clause in the loan deal - why on earth would anyone in their right mind bid 7m ?

Fiorentina are negotiating an exchange with Liverpool between Juan Manuel Vargas and Alberto Aquilani.

It was reported this weekend in Italy and England that the Viola were renewing their interest in midfielder Aquilani.

There are now suggestions that instead of paying €9m for the ex-Juventus and Milan man, Fiorentina are proposing an exchange.

Liverpool have long been linked with a bid for Vargas, though it never quite materialised in the past.

The Peruvian winger is an outcast in the Tuscan camp and has often been criticised by fans and local media for his weight.

Vargas is eager for a transfer and Fiorentina hope to get his wages off their books, so an exchange with Liverpool would be ideal.

Shut up, I'm enjoying this reported fee, this is no place for logic.

This article makes no sense, they're eager to get his wages of the books yet they're going for Aquilani.
