Loads of papers saying we are in for him. I am still not convinced he suits us but he will deffo score goals. 25 in all competitions last season for Swansea. He was used at AM a fair bit by Vitesse so he is not just a striker but he is not great out wide at all.

Here are some terrible sources that say we are competing with Spurs and in talks with Bony already

And here is that titan of sporting journalism and @redhorizon2 favourite Jamie Sanderson on why we have to buy him

No smoke without fire ?

Skybet 6/1 down to Evens overnight must say some heavy money is being laid or the bookies have heard something.

I've just here for 5 minutes (okay 20 seconds) trying to put into words how much I dislike that Jamie Sanderson clown, but I just can't do it. He's the worst "journalist" on the planet.

As for Bony, I think he'd be a complete waste of money for us, Ricky Lambert is a far superior player in my opinion.

I like Bony and get a kick out of cloggy's unrelenting love for him but I don't think we should be shelling out for him.

On a side note, surprised he played as an AM before.

Not sure why there's no love for him, he's looked pretty decent every time I've seen him. Only problem I'd have is the fee ala the llama. If we could pick him up for about the 15mill bracket, and on decent wages he'd be a good buy. If he's 25mill+ and on 100k a week he can fuck off.
He's definitely an upgrade on Borini and aspaz.

Most people seem to think that Bony is just a big lump up front like Andy Carroll but that is bollocks. He can do that if required but he is also a much better footballer. Some nice stuff here.

Lukaku is better and younger if we're buying that type of striker.

I think Bony is better right now. He scores more while playing for a worse team and is also more of a team player. Lukaku may be better in the future.

To be fair, both of them were decidedly 'meh' in the World Cup.

Both of them were really poor off the ball. Bony in particular seemed really static when his team had the ball in and around the box

This is what I mean, the lad has skill with his feet aswell as pace. Everyone was over the moon when we signed lambert who's a 'big lump', but Bony isn't getting any love. I think Sturridge/Bony/Lambert plus some goal scoring wing forwards would be fine.

I think we could do worse. He'd have to be willing to compete with Sturridge, though, because I don't see where else he gets in the team.

But he's a good player.

Cloggypop said he can play AM too.

We're getting a lot of versatile players in. We're aiming to change formation at the drop of a hat without making subs

Yeah but he's never actually going to get in the side there ahead of speialists like Lallana and Coutinho.

He'd need to be able to sit quietly on the bench too.
