The London club have agreed a £15.5 million fee with Liverpool for Carroll, who spent last season on loan at Upton Park. But the player is understood to be unsure as to whether to make the deal permanent, even though he has been informed by Liverpool that he has no future under manager Brendan Rodgers.

Carroll is on holiday in the United States, but is due to return soon. West Ham manager Sam Allardyce had hoped to hear from Carroll last week but now fears that he will not be joining them, even though it is unlikely he will receive a better offer elsewhere.

Newcastle United, Carroll’s former club, remain interested but will not pay anywhere near the valuation Liverpool have placed on the 24-year-old, even though it is almost £20 million less than he was sold for in January 2011.

West Ham, who failed with a bid for Sevilla’s Alvaro Negredo last week, have already held talks with Bony’s representatives about a possible move, although they are not the only Premier League club interested in the prolific 24-year-old Ivory Coast international, who was the Eredivisie’s top-scorer last season with 31 goals.

Stoke City had been thought to be favourites to sign Bony. The departure of Tony Pulis as manager may have changed their plans, although his replacement, Mark Hughes, is in the market for a striker.

If West Ham fail to secure Bony, they have also given consideration to making bids for either Stuttgart’s Martin Harnik, an Austrian international who can play on the wing, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Algerian international Karim Matmour.

Harnik, 25, has three years left on his deal and West Ham considered making a move for him last January.

Matmour, whose contract expires this month, with an option to extend, has already claimed to have received three offers, including at least one from the Premier League. Fulham have previously been linked to the 27-year-old.

West Ham are also weighing up a move for former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou, who left Stamford Bridge when his contract expired last summer.

The Ivory Coast international is keen to return to England after just a season in France with Lille. Greek side Olympiakos are interested in signing him.

He's trying to force a move back to Newcastle, isn't he? Either that or he's even more of a featherhead than some have accused him of being.
 
I think he'll join West Ham, if not he's more stupid than he looks.
Needs to play and joins a team that are set up to play to his strenghts.
Big Sam and Nolan will get him into the England team and the next WC aswell

I think it's probably the wages issue. I find it hard to believe West Ham are offering 100k.

He's probably looking for a pay off from us and is willing to sit it out until we buckle.

We need West Ham to threaten to look elsewhere and pray he jumps
 
If he doesn't go to West Ham on the deal we want, I'm all in for letting the useless cunt rot in the reserves for years, so that even Newcastle wouldn't take him on.
 
If he doesn't leave then bring him back and feed him Antabus every morning or stop his wages for obvious breach of contract by being an unfit pisshead.
I hoped and hoped for nearly 2 years that he would come good again, but then the cunt went on a Christmas piss-up in Dublin while on the injury list at West Ham instead of working on his fitness. Fuck him!

The second story about Cisse mentions Carroll as a possible replacement should he leave. It seems he could get the move he wants back North, couldn't give a shite really as long as he goes as soon as possible for £15m.
 
The dude who rented Carroll his house comes in our pub and I was talking to his mate yesterday and he said that he'd never paid anything when he was here and he fucked the place up, the outstanding bill is 90k. Carroll, via his agent, has said that the rental was done under a limited company which they have folded so everyone can fuck off. The dude is now taking LFC to court as they did the introduction.

This Carroll to West Ham deal isn't looking too good :( If it was, it would have been done by now.

If it doesn't come off I reckon we might be forced to sell him to Newcastle for considerably less than the £15m West Ham have offered.
Or we could even be left with him until January at least.
