It almost seems like a distraction from the main event. Perhaps if it was against a seemingly harder opponent it would generate more pre match discussion.
It would be nice to take a significant lead into the away leg but our current form suggests a relatively tight affair.
On a not positive note we have to reshuffle our defense with the possibility of Moreno lining out at left back.
Midfield will probably see the restoration of Hendo and Milner, probably in place of Gini and Kieta.
Is there a chance that there might be a surprise start for Joe Gomez?
I am hoping he makes the bench and maybe gets some game time.

Will Porto require a physically strong midfield ? I wish we had an alternative to TAA, who need resting and Firmino who was carrying an injury (we'll see what Klopp says about that).

If Firmino needs resting then this team to start with Millie & Gini benched and resting for Chelsea which is the more important game and Klopp knows it :

Surely Gini gets rested for this ahead of Chelsea. Milner at LB for sure meaning Fabs, Hendo + one of Naby or Lallana. I’d like to see Naby again.

If there were a game to rest one of the front three it’s this and I’d start Origi for Bobby if he had a knock against Saints to make sure he’s firing for next PL game and away in Porto.

Moreno aside, I think the back five will be the same, front three the same, midfield is obv the tricky one.

Fabinho, Hendo, Keita would be my hope, but I do think perhaps he plays Gini one last time before giving him a few games off. Getting ahead of myself, Sunday should definitely be Fabinho, Hendo & Milner.

I don't think this will be an easy game at all, I think it will be harder than Bayern who I thought were sh*t even before we played them. Porto will not want to get humiliated like last season, and their players may want to prove a point. Also - not sure about our away record in Europe these days - so not sure what to expect from us or the opposition.

On another note - part of me does not give a sh*t about this game, the league challenge is so emotionally overwhelming - I am really struggling to get excited about this game which is very strange because Liverpool and the European Cup is almost a given symbiotic relationship that brings along the greatest emotional nights and most memorable football - so I really don't know how to feel right now.
