Yeah because it's just a case of us clicking our fingers and getting who we want.. You don't know how much Mata is going for, whether he's even interested in coming here and if we've even made any enquiries (and been rebuffed) already. Carry on with the fantasy shit though, it's proper entertaining.

Luis Suarez is more or less proof that we don't need CL football to entice world class players to join. On the other hand you're telling me that Mata joining is a fantasy. I really don't understand your logic.
Man C got a couple of world class players without CL football as well.
And why the hell should we be content with Downing? Especially with him having a £20 Million price tag.
If it was about £14 Million, sure no problem. My beef is with the fee and it's a bit childish of you to go "oohhh so we shouldn't get any left winger" boo fucking hoo.

For every Suarez there's ten Kezman's. One foreign signing who makes it does not mean they all
Yes, City got class players, but they spent a fucking fortune doing so, paying obscene wages, & those players almost to a man show that buying players like that means they dont come with the right attitude.
So, you'd take him for 14m, but not 20m? Because?
That makes no sense, either he's better than what we have, or he's not. If he is, & we have to pay 20m, in absence of any fictious wingers who are better, available, & willing to come, then why the fuck not.

What kind of a question is that?
There's always been situations when players are priced out of a move.
I mean I'd love to have Scott Dann for £6 Million but not £15 Million.
It's about what he's worth and the fact that for every extra million we spend on players who's fee's are blown out of proportion, we're loosing cash to spend on other players.
Basically it's down to a difference of taste between me and you. This argument has nothing to do with cash. I've already said that I rate N'zogbia more than Downing and for you it's presumably the opposite.
£10-12 Million could get us the Frenchman with premier league experience goals etc.
If the club is adamant about Downing, IMO £14 Million should be the limit.
But if it's going to be £20 Million, I'd rather save £8 Million and buy N'Zogbia.
