Flanagan or Kelly?

I find it interesting that Rodgers decided to give Kelly 10 mins against West Ham. Didn't do too badly imo.
I think Rodgers wanted another player on the pitch who's strong in the air.
If Kelly is back to full fitness there's no real contest for me. He's overall a better player than Flanagan, who's been pretty decent in the four games he's played. Can be a bit aggressive at times, which isn't exactly bad but it can cause us problems. Noticed that Sakho had to cover for him a few times.

We're up against some tricky wingers next weekend. Do you trust Flanagan to keep Lennon/Chadli/Townsend quiet?

I have the same thoughts. I thought Rodgers wanted more height, but it could also signal some changes. I don't know if I would trust Flanagan vs Spurs – he does get beaten too easily by good wingers. Even Downing had a pretty easy time with him…

Agree with some of the posters that we could play Johnson on the left. I wouldn't mind Kelly on the right though. He can defend and gets forward more often than Flanagan would.

No it doesn't, I rate McLaughlin too but he's not even close to the first team.

Good enough to play for NI.
O'Neill wants him to switch allegiances.

I imagine that a lot of teams are pulling on him in the lower leagues.
I wonder why Rodgers won't let him go on loan?

Cant remember seeing Kelly at left back but I think hes generally a better player than Flanagan, whatever the decision against Spurs we need to find a more settled back 4 and give them a chance to work together. Whether thats Kelly at RB and Johnson at LB or staying as we are I dont really know

All these farkin paddy names, farkin kellys, flanagans and mcloughlins. Where are the ethnic Saxons for heavens sake? At least Everton have a Barkley. Now that's a real English name.

I'm pretty sure gave an interview saying he had no intention of convincing McLaughlin to do that. I would find it rather inappropriate for a former Northern Ireland international to try and poach players for a different national side, the FAI may well be pursuing him but I would tend to believe O'Neill when he says he isn't.
