Lets be honest, good performances were sparse under Roy, I dont think anyone can deny that. Kuyt and Lucas both started the season badly and have eneded it strongly. Dirk scoring 14 from what is technically the wing (albeit some penalties) is an excellent return, and Lucas has has consistently played well in midfield since December. None of the team have had incredible seasons but Kuyt, Lucas, Reina, Kelly and Suarez were our best 5 players.
Lucas is one of the younger members of the team It's unlikely that he would be vocal at this stage of his career. Imagine when the likes of Suso, Sterling and Coady are mainstays he'd be one of the senior players and would probably have that authority.
The way he's looked after the young fullbacks and Spearing shows leadership qualities which is why I say that. Coupled with his heart, character and general selflessness I could see him as a captain in the future.

RAWK were tearing into Carra, blaming him for everything and accusing him of being worse for the club than H&G - when I posted in his defence pointing out what a great servant he'd been to the club they banned me.

Most of Deadly's goals have come while he's been playing up front with Suarez in Carroll's absence, but you still have to put the opportunities away. He's had a fine season.

TBF I think Carra did have a period where he was a destabilising influence towards the end of Rafa's last season. I think he felt threatened by the fact that Rafa wanted to give him a year on year contract and temporarily lost his composure.

Exactly right, he's been playing very well for a while now and it's no accident we look a lot more solid in midfield.
This isn't to say that we don't need Gerrard though, just that it might be time to look at formations more intently and find a way to get the best out of the whole team

Lucas played some excellent balls against Fulham. It was one of the best performances(if not the best) going forward I've seen from him. Assists and goals are not something you measure a CM like Lucas with anyway. How many assists and goals Xabi had per season(not comparing the two of course)?

Lucas played some excellent balls against Fulham. It was one of the best performances(if not the best) going forward I've seen from him. Assists and goals are not something you measure a CM like Lucas with anyway. How many assists and goals Xabi had per season(not comparing the two of course)?
