Shame it didn't go well for him at Brighton.

Bring him in to sort out the defence!

Id say he's worth a spell as defensive coach. Just because hes struggled as a manager doesn't mean he wouldnt be an excellent coach. I'm sure most people other than Pascoe and Rodgers would welcome it.

I really think the board should sit Rodgers down in Jan and tell him he has money to spend on the condition he brings in a defensive coaching specialist

Some people on Twitter suggesting he's a bad manager cos he was an "average" defender. This from Liverpool fans!

And just because he's struggled as a manager doesn't mean he will be an excellent coach.

There's no way those two statements can go together. Nobody who thinks Sami was an average defender was ever a Liverpool fan. Not in any sense. He's the best CB I've seen for us since the 80's.

Absolutely correct, i just hate to see people trot out the nonsense that says he failed as a manager so hes going to fail as a coach. I always reckoned Sami was one of the best readers of a game and defensive organisers in the league during his time with us. Those are qualities we are really crying out for right now. Being an intelligent player doesn't mean he would be a good coach but from what I recall he was well regarded during his time as a coach it was his step up into management that caused him problems. Maybe hes not suited to management that doesn't mean he cant offer something in a coaching capacity

I think the idea of Sami as a defensive coach is better than reality tbh.
Both Leverkusen and Brighton had defensive issues, and you'd imagine that would be the first thing he'd focus on.

Anyway, love Sami and our current set up is a joke so why not. Cant get any worse.

You'd think we would all have learned by now not to say 'It can't get any worse,' but we haven't.

Heh, if our defence is supposed to get any worse then that dancing dog would need to start.

Most personal mistakes in the league and conceding goals all over the place. I'm not afraid to say the infamous words tbh 😉
