Other clubs transfer news (home and abroad)

This would be a coup for the Spurs. A true coup. To get this sort of a forward.

And I thought that LFC would be interested in obtaining more of these sorts of players. Attacking midfielders/wingers who can score. As opposed to going for Ekitike and Isak (two similar players who are both Number 9s) and for Wirtz (who is a general, passing midfielder).

I am really, really surprised Liverpool didn't go for obtaining a couple of players like these for about 60m, as opposed to obtaining Isak for 120m. Especially after Ekitike was purchased.

He looks very impressive. Working from the middle and from the wing. And very comfortable scoring and shooting. Notice his first-touch shooting. Knows how to pick up passes and crosses. Very comfortable all around. Seems like a hard worker too. Like he took the German league by the storm, and his numbers suggest he did the same at PSV. That would be a coup for Tottenham. And not so expensive. Proper age. If he excels at Tottenham, which he likely will as he will get proper space there to develop, his next transfer might be over 100m.

Xavi Simmons looks like a much better prospective purchase than Woltemade. Newcastle might look for Woltemade and Wissa as replacements for Isak.

Spent one year in the Dutch league and was their top scorer. He is 22 now and that was in 2022. So that he was 19 at the time. Probably moved to Barcelona as a kid. Why has he not attracted interests from top clubs? I mean, Tottenham and Chelsea were after him. Both in the CL. Seems like he had interesting career choices. From Barcelona to PSG (where he didn't have space to play), to Germany. He was also fundamentally un-preferred in Spain because he is not Spanish but Dutch. Spanish are very ethnic like that. They favour their own OR LATIN players.

Going to PSG was a terrible choice for him. Galactico big spenders. They probably just shoved him on the bench.

Unless there are some unknown, background issues with him (which there don't appear any) he seems like could explode.

Leipzig broke their transfer record to obtain him. And he is already, after one year, leaving for bigger clubs. He/his family/agents are ambitious. And he is living up to the expectations.

I mean, he looks like a real deal. Proper age. Can play in the middle, on both wings. Can assist. Can score. Can dribble. Is energetic. Has experience. What a great target.

His scoring and assists record aren’t great. He didn’t seem to really kick on last season, it felt like he stagnated last year and probably needs this move.

Had a curious, ankle-ligament injury vs Liverpool. That was his only major injury. No knee issues/problems. Had two fully competitive seasons in Holland and in Germany.

In these highlights vs. Liverpool one can notice that he was trying very, very hard to impress while playing a top European club.

Look at him here. Comfortable on the ball and very technical. Attracting the attention of almost 5 Liverpool defenders while in the box. Absent panicking. That is a great sign for a young player. He just needs a bit of work on releasing the ball to the proper player at proper times. As I've said above, he was trying to impress during that game. And might've hoped for a foul/penalty.

He's going elsewhere. We were never linked to him.

I saw him in the WC, tidy player, always moving, but nothing special imo. Reminded me of Elliot.

Simons scored 8 goals and registered 11 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances. He was joint-second in assists in Bundesliga.

Ekitike scored 15 goals and registered 8 assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances. BUT HERE YOU MUST KEEP IN MIND THAT EKITIKE IS A STRIKER. HE SPENDS ALL OF HIS TIME IN FRONT OF THE GOAL. HE CAN ACCRUE ASSISTS ALMOST BY DOING NOTHING. Simons is a midfielder working from the deep. Or from the wing. He is much more of a CREATOR of things. Such players are often much more valuable.

A L S O : 15 goals for Ekitike is NOT a good stat. A good Number 9 scores over 20 goals per season. Around 24-25 goals.

Simons is a trickster of a player. Likes to dribble and try flips and tricks. But he KNOWS how to pass. He's a tremendous prospect for the Premier League.

Simons is a class player. He's the main man for the Dutch national team now too. I would have loved to have upgraded Elliott to him. Can also cover AM and LW. Great signing for Spurs.
