Other clubs transfer news (home and abroad)

What a touching story from Rio… Only fitting that Gyokeres told Utd to do one today and that he isn’t interested.

Rio Ferdinand comments on the Viktor Gyökeres transfer saga:

"I would be giving Frederico Varandas nightmares until we had a deal for him to let me go. I did that at Leeds. I heard that Man United were interested in me and I knew Leeds had to let me go. I went to the chairman's office and said to him: 'Listen, I know you need to sell me, we're not going to haggle over a few million here or there. Make a deal'. I was there for hours waiting and he finally did the deal...

I'll tell you what, I would be in his [Frederico Varandas] office and he wouldn't be able to leave. I would be in his bed, in the front bedroom, in the kitchen. He wouldn't be able to get me out of his sight."

What a massive cunt.

Gyokeres has come out and said he wants to go to arsenal. So it'll be interesting

Zabarnyi close to signing for PSG. Bournemouth have now sold their starting CBs, left back and GK.

There is some noise about Madueke being wanted by Arsenal and Chelsea may be open to selling him. Not sure if Gittens is an upgrade, at least in the short term.

Gittens is playing on the left, Madueke on the right. But I think they're selling Madueke because of Estevao, the Brazilian wonder kid.
Also Neto.

Every time (not many) I've seen estevao he looks shite.

Chelsea going for Joao Pedro as well. So many signings yet the team only gets marginally better

That’s because by the time the players have learnt each others names, they’re on loan at another club or have about 15 new names to learn.

If Maresca doesn’t have them looking like st least another Top 4 finish, the cast of thousands will be needing to learn another managers name and new tactics as well.

To be fair he’s done better than I expected he would do.

Chelsea are buying every mid-range player in the 21-25 year old bracket available.
That's why they'll probably do well in the cups, but in the league where they want to play their best players, they just don't have the necessary edge to mount a title challenge.

Wonder if that means they're out of the Ekitike running. Delap, Pedro, Jackson and Nkunku all at the 9

I just don't see where he fits in there. They have enough "good enough" players who can play across the front three and/or 9/10.

Mental from Pedro…this is his big mid 20s break out move to a big club and he’s chosen the absolute worse move possible for his progression…what a prick.

Depends. Does he want progression or a payday. Newcastle isn't that much above chelsea
