Other clubs transfer news (home and abroad)

One of the stories I'm following a bit this year is Evan Ferguson. He's had such a disappointing and injury striken few years that his next move is huge for him. Roma and Celtic are sniffing around for a loan deal.

In my view he wasn't just a young prodigy who had a golden spell. He was looking he had all the hallmarks of becoming a top claw striker. Brighton seem willing to cut him loose again, which might tell it's own story, but I'd kinda like him to rediscover some kind of form and fitness. It's a shame when these careers just wither and die. Still only 20, so time to turn things around if his body holds up.
Suffering from depression is what I’ve heard which makes recovering his best form all the harder.

I never understand the hype when people were comparing him to a young Alan Shearer. He looked promising but that was always a huge exaggeration. Hopefully he turns things around for Irelands chances.

Fair enough, but for his own as well.

Hate to break it to them but MZ is a defunct Eastern European communist motorcycle brand that was shite; didn't go well and broke down a lot.

See, you only get this level of detail from an oldie with an interest in motorcycles.

On the other hand if he'd signed for LFC he'd have been boss. Fine line.
I remember them! Wish I didn't.

Re Gyokeres, I read something last week where Opta had ranked the strength of the top leagues in Europe. Portugal was something like 7th, behind the Championship.
Stats and all, but it essentially implies that Gyokeres could basically be a Swedish Rob Earnshaw.

From Opta (which is why his amount goals are a bit meh since the majority were scored against them):

Both Sporting CP (23rd) and Benfica (24th) are ranked inside the top 25 teams in the world, while Porto (56th) and Braga (70th) join them in the top 70. The Primeira Liga’s overall average is brought down by teams outside of these big four, though – 11 of the 18 teams in the competition rank outside the top 300 in the Opta Power Rankings, a similar level to teams in the third tier of England.

Player for player, yes certainly. I was just wondering whether they might have decided to go for a different type of attacking set-up because they don't rate their chances of finding an adequate direct replacement.

Newcastle working on a deal for Ekitike. Isak on the move or do they want both?
The striker market is getting thinner.

Just another striker off the market though
Its glass half full if Arsenal and Chelsea are sorted as it gives us a free run at Sesko or Ekitike. We're the only big club in Europe still on the hunt, so maybe we can play them off against each other.
