Other clubs transfer news (home and abroad)

Have posted this elsewhere but if the terms of that Jackson deal aren't right (or if they haven't had a nod and a wink from UEFA) then I think they may still be unable to register some of their new signings (and / or Wesley Fofana) for Europe this season. It might still get tasty over the next couple of days when they file their List A...

This Sanne Lammens looks half decent. The way he makes him self look big is trat all good gk have, something sorely missing from Man U's run of failures. I think they might finish in the top 7 with this GK

I also saw worst moments. Impossible to judge right now, but I can't imagine he'll be a revelation. Probably just an effective keeper

He's only 23, and their interest in Martinez doesn't suggest they were looking at Lammens as the immediate answer to their problem in goal. There's no way he alone will make ten places' worth of difference to their league position.

Holy Smokes Bayer Leverkusen has seen the light!

Pushed the wildcard button after GW2!

Annulled the marriage after he fell asleep during consummation!

They're trying to reload their saved games!

Quansah can breath again!

I think ETH is a role model. Following his last two posts he has been compensated to the tune of £15m:

Based on recent reports, Erik ten Hag has received a significant amount of compensation after his dismissals from both Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen.

  • Manchester United: In their financial accounts for 2024, Manchester United revealed they paid approximately £10.4 million (or around $12 million) in compensation to Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff following his dismissal in October 2024.
  • Bayer Leverkusen: After being sacked by Bayer Leverkusen after just two months in charge, reports indicate he received a total of around €6 million in compensation, which includes both his severance pay and his salary for the short time he was at the club.

In total, the compensation paid to Erik ten Hag from both clubs is estimated to be over £15 million.
I'm willing to be repeatedly sacked for the compo.

Wasn't Jose King of this ?

He's joining the ex managers club on Athelitico Mince.

Newcastle finally appoint their new CEO, David Hopkinson:

Hopkinson joins from Madison Square Garden Sports, where he was president and chief operating officer, leading on the business operations of the New York Knicks and New York Rangers.

The Canadian previously served as global head of partnerships at Real Madrid and spent over two decades as chief commercial officer at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, where he oversaw the commercial activities for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors.

Finances. They can't even fill their stadiums. While EPL sold it's soul to the devil, serie A stagnated.
That being said, they still managed to produce a national team that won the Euros a few years ago.

Might sound a bit xenophobic but the Italian league still has an Italian identity to some extent. The Prem? Seems like British players are the minority.
Are you sure about number national numbers in PL and Seria A?, seems like a lazy statement. Quick invalidated search probably using AI, seems to say there are more in PL Brits wise. There’s loads of good youth coming through and they are being given the chance.

I agree it's not all bad, although Saudi state ownership isn't something to be proud of.
I'm just saying that the EPL sold it's soul quicker than the other leagues and they've got some catching up to do.
It’s not just down to that, Seria A already had a premium product in 90s but their brand of football wasn’t as entertaining globally, the constant scandals related to cheating, 2pts for a win, old stadia etc were all other contributing factors too. An English speaking premium product also sells better globally it seems too.

Fair enough but 40 odd more national players doesn’t make it any less national identity wise or any less attractive though.
Honestly it was a lazy statement from me because I haven't followed Serie A for a while, but the few times I've seen games they always have at least 3-4 Italians in the team, and their managers are more often than not Italian too.
So, I guess I was surprised that there weren't more Italians.

The manager thing is weird in England. Watching Tuchel’s England makes me hate int footy.
