The Italian league massively fell off when they just didn't have the silkiest players around. Mid 90s-early 00s, there were fucking tons of top tier Italian players. Now they're all gash.

I fucking loved that league back in the day..the mystique and the aura was incredible.

I grew up watching Italian football in the 90’s and have to admit I used to be quite snobbish towards English football - my friends used to rave about United, but whenever their game came on the telly, it seemed like a lot of mindless running in comparison.

Now Serie A is way behind in every way, the only constant is the England national team being slow and boring.
