It's arguably the worst decision yet, between that and the Mac red. Can't understand it. Surely VAR has to be scrapped for everything that doesn't involve offsides?

This is something that refs have ignored for too long - the dangerous attempted tackle, even if contact isn't made.I can see why the ref sent him off. Yes, there was barely any contact, but does Clyne's knee have to bend backwards for it to be a red?
Sorry but it's been this way for years. The refs judge the attempt and it was a high and dangerous challenge by Calvert-Lewin.
