What a mess!

I think the owners didnt have a choice regarding Kenny as we did so good last season under him. They were pushed into a corner. Apperantly Kenny wasnt even on Comollis shortlist for new managers.

We have to do something this summer. Its sad, but we do.

I said it last year that I thought the reason why the yanks were so reluctant to get rid of roy is because they wanted him to last the season and then they would get their own man in, once kenny got the job even if he was average it would have been very difficult to remove him and when he did way better than average it was IMPOSSIBLE to remove him.

I don't think there is going to be a big transfer kitty in the summer and what little there is will be eaten up if kenny is removed.

Would any club other than Liverpool have offered Kenny a job? I seriously doubt it.

Probably not, but other clubs aren't exactly queuing up for Benitez, yet many on here seem keen to have him back.

Kenny loves the club and has a great record. Okay, so it is in the past and he might well need to adjust, but isn't that fair enough? Surely you don't just become a shit manager do you?

Is it ?

This goes back to what I said last week, process v. results.

People judge Rafa as a tactical genius because of the CL win. If we'd lost a penalty shoot out you wouldn't have anything to back up the assertion - and to insist he's a tactical genius is to ignore the fact that his genius tactics had us three down in the Final. It was forced decision making that rectified things. On the flip side if Chelsea had won a penalty shoot out Avram Grant would have won them a CL, something the best manager in the world ever never managed to do at Chelsea.

Literally the only difference between then and now is Steven Gerrard wasn't completely fucking shite back in 2005. People have no idea how to rate managers, mainly because you don't take into account all of the relevant factors. They assume that if a club does well it's because the manager is doing really well - which is quite often simply not the case.

It's just lose a game - manager got his tactics wrong. Won - manager got it right. Simplistic bollocks which is typical of football.

Tactics is just like card counting in poker, it marginally shifts the odds in your favour but more often than not the best hand is still going to win. We should be focusing on putting together the best hand that we can, not marginal bollocks like tactics.

You think people rate Rafa as a tactical genius because of Istanbul?Really?Who have you been talking to?Selective memory if you want to leave out the other matches that got us to that final and another one really isn't it?Beating Barca in the Nou Camp, holding Juve away, the two Chelsea semis.Really you forget too much.

I'm not a fan of Benitez but even I'd admit that in Europe he was tactically brilliant.

He was - at times - in his first three seasons. His later record tends to justify what Rosco said - when other factors aren't positive, the manager can quite easily seem quite different in ability.

Its getting increasingly boring talking about Rafa and his managerial statistics and how much our signings have cost in fees and wages. After months and months of repetitive posts about the transfersvwe all KNOW them by now.

We really need to stop talking about what has happened, as that cant be changed. Talking about the future and something that we can actually do something about is what should be discussed.

Those who mention Carroll and 35 mill £ again should be strangled with their own pubic hair.

funny how everyones stock increases in value when they are out of it, like injured players who were shit before injury but when out and we are struggling are suddenly the missing piece. Rafa failed with us in the league, there is not reason to think he has changed, he has also been sacked by another club since.

Move on

This

We don't have a plan A, we're really disjointed and none of the players are on the same level.

Suarez has been shit the last few weeks, as has Enrique. Rest them against Villa or Blackburn, shake them up a bit.

1. Most new managers get an immediate response from players.

2. Our squad was a bit better in the second half of last season

3. Our fixture list was much easier in the second half of last season.

But lets forget all that and just go for the overly simplistic approach.

yes, playing defensively and getting lucky = genius.

Anyone can do that.

Especially given we were out of all cups bar Europa (which we went out of early in february if i remember right?)

Why I think Kenny has lost the dressing room:

The players who "more or less" got him the job, have been treated badly.
Meireles with the "fuck you gesture" which people say was directed at Lucas (no really sure about that), was for some strange (to me) reason sold.
Maxi. First he's replaced by Downing and then despite him being poor, Maxi still isn't given a chance. Morale down the toilet.
Carra ahead of Coates. You might think it only affects Coates, I beg to differ. I think the entire Spanish speaking part of the squad are baffled by that decision. It screams favouritism, the same could be said about the selection of Downing, Henderson and Adam.
Aurelio, he might not be in Kenny's plans, but I think it's a tad bit disrespectful to keep him on the bench like that. Injuries or not, he's a talented player and he has decided games for us. Why didn't he play him on wing instead of Downing, considering that he's the best (IMO) crosser in the team? Why not play him in the middle with Spearing, allowing Gerrard to push forward?

Doni, a decorated, experienced keeper. Presumably not good enough to play in any of our cup games.

The players can't be arsed, it's pretty evident considering our latest results. I personally think it's because the majority of the players have lost focus ie Kenny has lost them.

My thoughts not facts.

Another thing, if the first team players aren't arsed, PLAY STERLING, SUSO, ADORJAN, ROBINSON etc. I wouldn't give a fuck about the result if they played, I'd actually enjoy seeing them gain some experience and maybe just maybe they'd also prove themselves.

Can't remember personally but I though Meireles requested a transfer

I don't know what's gone on with Maxi either but when he has played he hasn't seemed that down about it has he?

Eh? Based on what??! Have you asked them?

Talented player yes, but completely broken virtually all the time!! I doubt many players, who all actually KNOW Aurelio and train with him, would be particularly baffled by this decision. Aurelio is lucky he is still at the club to be honest!

I suspect the players are probably more pleased by the fact that we have WON one cup and are in the semi of the other rather than being pissed off that the back up keeper hasn't played

I think its right - the players can't be arsed with the league coz - well they have no chance of CL position.
