Darwin - the evolution of a transfer

Fair play to him though I guess for trying to go to a good team. Our no dickhead policy biting us in the ass.

Swap deals do happen, just as two separate deals with the prices inflated to suit. Cf. Wirtz and Quansah

Saudi window shuts ten days after ours. Impossible to know if we need him sold to afford a new (expensive) nine, but I think the fact we have declared interest in Isak despite it being clear the Napolli deal is dead, suggests that we can replace him in advance and then have a potentially extended time to get some money back.

If we can't get a nine in then there's zero chance we sell him once our window is shut. It's in Suadis interest to move sooner rather than later.

I know swap deals only happen once in a blue moon but I think we might need to use Nunez as the makeweight in a deal to sign someone else. No-one is going to outright pay the money that we want for him. Apart from maybe the Saudis and I doubt he'd want to go there. Otherwise, he'll go on loan somewhere for 2 years with us paying half his wages until he leaves on a free. Like all those cast-offs Utd can't get rid of.

I think the Saudis will bail us out, I think he'll go there. Apparently he wanted to go there in January anyway.

I think someone in Europe would've paid reasonable money for him, 40m or so, because he's not some trouble making idiot like Rashford or Sancho. But it seems like we're often just not willing to be reasonable on fees. We think we can rinse everyone like we did for guys like Brewster and Carvalho. It's unrealistic to think you can just pull that off every time.
