Gettin’ Guehi with it

I mean purely from a Jan window POV, for a player who wants to make a claim for the world cup spot. It doesn't feel a wise time to move given how shoddy we are.

If you're already happy enough where you are and confident you'll make the WC squad, then I think January is a bad time to move to any club. It's full of risk for many reasons, but moving to a club underperforming has many upsides to it too. You move to City now, you're not going to stand out, and very unlikely to improve your reputation over a few months. You move to us, you could easily do that.

I'd be ok with them getting Guehi if the Gooners lose both Saliba and Gabriel to long term injury immediately after he goes to City.

stones, ake, khusanov?

this is what squads are for surely and they’ve got lads like akanji in loan

basically fuck off city you don’t really need him as much as we do

Glasner saying he isnt naive and that Guehi could leave if he wants to and a massive offer comes from City...

Glasner's an idiot, yeah Palace may accept a big bid for him but why would Guehi go? His agent will clearly be saying to him, wait till the summer sign for whoever you want and pick up that massive signing on fee - win win

That Glasner sounds like a piece or work. Why is he talking his players away from palace? He should shut up, unless he talks about him coming here of course.

He's an absolute cunt. The reason he mentioned City was because he was asked specifically about them, btw.

The main reason he might go now is if he feels the opportunity may not present itself again in the summer.

They are kinda stacked at the back though.

In terms of offers, yeah, but if he's dead set on going somewhere then that club may not return if they get what they need instead this month.

They’re still loaded with CBs. He might want to move elsewhere. We also don’t know what kind of agreement he has with us after he agreed a move last summer. He even made a welcome to Liverpool video with a kit on.

They were looking to offload Ake before the Gvardiol and Dias injuries.

Wouldn't surprise me that some sort of swap deal is arranged.

i remember the guehi lore being that he had loads of friends in the manchester area. reading between the lines liverpool were close enough and being the reigning champions doing some great transfer business it all made sense. arne probably even sounded the part at the time.

this is why i’m not confident at all that’s coming in the summer. even if he is a home bird city makes more sense. he needs to be a huge liverpool fan, in love with arne slot or live by some old time japanese samurai moral code to still come to liverpool.

It makes no sense for City to loan out Ake now though. They are down 2 x CBs, so signing one and selling one is pretty pointless.

But they know they can sign Guehi now and offload Ake in the Summer.

There's no way he'll hold out to come to us, especially after the farce in the summer and even more so because of how shite we are this season.

This was more in reference to the proposed swap deal.

The farce wasn’t down to us though. Parish pulled the plug.

We could have done the business earlier in the summer, giving them the time and money to sort a replacement.

We missed out more than likely because we tried to do it at the 11th hour.

Hell, if the plan for this season was to go in to it with 4 CBS, then we could have realistically offered them Gomez, considering how little he'd been used at CB or RB prior to injury

Now I wouldn't have liked to lose Gomez, but it could have made sense for everyone.

Hell, even a Gomez loan for 12 months.
