Darwin - the evolution of a transfer

It looks like no one wants him and we want him off the books. Maybe we're being smart and to work with Napoli in the future over something else

Maybe lower fee on Darwin means higher fee on chiesa, for ffp reasons

Everyone knows that we want to get rid of him, so we're not in a great position to negotiate.
The Saudis still want him, though.
This saga could drag on until the end of the window.

There’s plenty of teams want him - just not any, so far that are willing to pay any money for him.

Darwin + £100m to Newcastle for Isak or Atletico for Alvarez.

Then we can laugh at City fans accusing us of buying the title.

Whether Napoli have the cash is the main thing. £55M is peanuts for many PL clubs. Even for the big clubs in Italy it can be the entire budget. I think best case scenario is we get close our valuation but the payments are spread over longer period. Unless Saudi come in, and he's willing, it might be the only option to get the deal done. The club also need to weigh up whether the likes of Ekitike are worth £30-40M more money than Nunez. I've got big reservations about that. I'd sooner of took a punt on the likes of Pedro or Delap for the same or cheaper than we may get for Nunez, but anyway, the can only weight it up after the season. Hopefully there's a plan and some decent deals yet to be done.

They have the money from Kvaratskshelia, should get a reasonable fee for Osihmen and also they qualified for CL next season, which guarantees a fair bit more income since they’re weren’t in Europe at all last season.

So they can afford Nunez if they really want him, is my guess.

I wonder how easy it'll be to sell Osimhen for the kind of fee they'll be looking for. The quality is there, but if you buy Osimhen you buy trouble.
