Darwin - the evolution of a transfer

I don't wish him any ill will at all. Good luck to him.

I think it says it all about his Liverpool career that he was pretty well-regarded when we signed him but now no clubs in any decent leagues want him. However he still has a good few years yet, and things can change again.

Although it would have been better if we had never signed him in the first place, we did ultimately win the league with him and we did get a fair amount of money back, which isn't always the case with our poor signings.

I like that this line of thinking, as it seems to show a lot more financial prudence to all our deals so far.
To point, if we expand on your suggestion, then:

Elliott money + Nunez money + 40m for Isak
Diaz money + 5m for Ekitike
Quansah money + 5m for Kerkez
Morton money + 15m for Frimpong
100m for Wirtz

... and we still have a few smaller sales to do, but maybe also a purchase or two (hopefully a CB!)
Still a lot of cash outlay but there seems a lot more sanity to it. For me at least.
So in reality FSG have spent fuck all on us as usual ?

Yes…. But only in the same multiverse were Curtis Jones is a top top midfield generational talent that would walk into any team in the world.

Which is also, unfortunately, not the multiverse we live in.

Curtis Jones is one of the best midfielders in world football.

I know he is - just not in this reality and I’ve lost my inter-dimensional travel app.
You lot on here just do not get how talented he is, and how he has had to learn multiple positions despite being the most talented player of his generation. Its tragic that you lot think so low of him.

Jones is fine

Better than he's given credit for, but he's his own worst enemy by holding on to the ball too long, usually causing us to concede a chance. If he sorted that then he'd be given much more credit.

I only recall one incident where that happened with Jones in a PL game. However, I do recall 3 incidents in one season under Klopp where a goal was conceded under similar circumstances by Mac10. But most people like to overlook these things because they have decided to hate on him anyway.

Wish him well. He tried his best and was full of grit but easily one of the biggest disappointments we’ve had.

Simply not good enough from start to finish.
