Darwin - the evolution of a transfer

My feelings for Nunez ran the polar opposite to most of you. I was not impressed by him when we played Benfica and couldn’t understand why we were interested. He lacked composure, he was too unpredictable and didn’t seem to link-up too well with teammates.

I was unhappy when we signed him, particularly for the amount we paid. IMO he was worth about £40m maximum.

As his career progressed I became a fan. I loved his work ethic and enthusiasm despite the obvious flaws in his game. His goal/assist record for us is respectable and I loved the fact that he never hid; no matter how many chances he missed he was always in the box trying to get on the end of things.

Too many forwards these days are “cowards” who don’t put themselves in the six-yard box but hide away outside the box (looking at the Arsenal duo Havertz and Jesus as examples) for fear of missing chances. I’d much rather have a Nunez-type player who is where he should be.

We overpaid badly for him but Nunez didn’t set the fee so can’t be blamed. He was a £40m player and IMO still is a £40m player but a very good one.

I hope he goes on to have a very good career.

I thought the hate and venom he got was undeserved. He was frustrating and it was right to get upgrade, but he always tried unlike the other cunt who has just left the club

Not really. Slot was talking about one game, where Nunez had missed a key chance and his confidence had dropped. That doesn't define his time in a red shirt.

Yep.

Had he been also offside when he missed the chance - that would have more accurately defined his time in a red shirt.

Also… if had he been holding a very big fish at the time.

He has gone and we have upgraded. He might score a shit load of goals in Saudi and it didn't work out at LFC, I honestly wish the best for and will support his success at Al-Hilal. I don't think he deserves any more venom directed towards him, it wasn't his fault the club paid €85m for him.

Wanted it to work out. I wonder if his inability to learn the language was a factor in him not developing tactically. I will say he providing some super important assists. He lost me when he through the chair around. Didn’t live up to expectations but he did help last year for sure in smaller ways. Cheerio

Even is farewell message to Liverpool fans wasn’t in English the thick fucking cunt.

He’s gone, couldn’t give two hoots what he does now and will be happy never to hear or see a single thing about him.

Same for the bloke who’s name I forget that went somewhere in Spain.

Fixed, we have to use the right pronoun or risk being cancelled
