I agree with KHL when he says that Skrtel isn't good enough to be one half of our best centre back pairing which will start week in week out.
I don't however think that Agger is good enough either, based solely on his consistent injuries, and not on his footballing abilities.

I don't really see anybody ridiculing KHL either.

Well, not this time anyhow 😉
 
I'm sorry Kris - Like Andy, I've always loved Agger (and it was confirmed with the nice forearm he gave El Cunto) but he's not proven he can stay healthy with us. I hope he goes on to have a brilliant career ...
 
agger needs to be fucked off now, especially for the huge fee suggested. We need value for money with regards to our playing staff and sicknotes should be fucked off the books and replaced with players who you can rely on to play more than 5 games a seasons.

I'm sure someone will say then should be fuck off gerrard who is becoming a sick note, and to that I take the 5th ;D

as for skrtel, we need better as his positioning is simple too suspect

I dont want him to go but for £10 million it makes too much sense, wonderful defender but unfortunately always injured.

[/quote]I was thinking of that myself but the fact is, if gerrard plays 20 games, he'll win you 10 of them, the best you can hope for with Agger is that i he plays 20 games that he gets into form quick enough to not cost us.
Go and look at morses player of the season jobbie to see the impact agger has had.
Its over. Let him go.

No they won't - he isn't staying healthy in Liverpool. Maybe he can stay healthy in Germany. He'd do brilliantly in Spain (Barca should buy him to partner PUyol).

What's wrong with Pique ?
 
Great player when fit; but not fit enough often. A centre back pairing should consist, imho, of 2 players who can play 30-35 league games together to ensure stability. There should be another CB who will provide competition to the first 2 to keep them on their toes. Obviously, this third CB shouldnt be injured so often too.

Sorry Kristian, I love Daniel, in fact, I think our best partnership is Carra-Agger; but if a club offers 9m for him we have to sell.
 
For the record, I feel the same as Andy Bell.

I LOVE Agger and I'm gutted he might be leaving, but it doesn't make sense to keep him.

We, our entire team, play better when he's playing and I can't see us finding a replacement that's better than him.
He's a damn good defender, plus the additional factor of him being a very good footballer.

We played our best spell of football this season when he was out the team and the defence was more or less decimated, so I think that's an exaggeration, you'd think he was our playmaker the way some of you carry on. The season we finished 2nd Skrtel and Carra played more too.

It does sometimes happen that a player's reputation is actually increased when he is injured for much of the time. People remember the good games but forget the average ones.

I've highlighted the big gaping hole in that argument Junior.
 
As others have said, I'm a fan of Agger and would be reluctant to see him go, but it's hard to make an argument for keeping him given his terrible injury record. If he is sold, I'd like to see us get a top class replacement though - not Scott Dann.

Yeah if a replacement does come in then they have to compliment Carra and Skrtel and be a bit more of a commanding aerial presence etc.
 
I've been in favour of selling him for a good while now but I think £9m is on the low side.

£12m seems about right to me
 
I'd be shocked if Leverkusen spend £9m on a defender ...they never spend big money . That would be more on one player than they've spent in any whole transfer window over the last 3 or 4 seasons.
 
Sell, with a heavy heart. Hope he comes back to play at Anfield one day so he can get a nice reception.

*expects him to miss that match through injury though*
