The transfer fee is irrelevant imho. Its weird that its supposedly more excusable to be unfit after no pre season if the fee was 20 mill.

Course it is relevant, more money you spend then more scrutiny on it. If he was 20m then less eyes and less pressure to perform, bit strange you don't see that. So why is he not fit? I don't quiet get why he isn't fit, same excuses were given back in October and were more plausible then but still didn't buy it back then.

It is very relevant because we have bought a player in his peak 2 - 3 years, and lost half of 1 of those years due to lack of fitness. Inexcusable.

It's not a case of 'wanting him to' or 'expecting him to'.

It's that once posters here (everywhere?) take a stance they are unlikely to change it and put a hand up to say 'I was wrong'.

I mean look at the Salah apologists ! SCDNW. Or the Nunez haters or more recently Gakpo haters. Once someone becomes entrenched in a their position towards a player they'll stay silent when they do well up until that player does something to warrant their ire and then it'll be 'told you so' or they'll be all over his mistake as a vindication of their stance.
