Frozen chips? Why the fuck would a chippy use frozen chips?

Just as a matter of interest, who runs them in the Republic? Most around here are Greek/Cypriot or Chinese-owned.
That struck me as odd too - there is a tradition over here of Italians running chippies. Our local one is Enzos, he has a chain of 5 or 6 in Clare, and they mostly use frozen chips and ,... wait for it, frozen bloody fish!! They dont even batter them in front of you

I know exactly what you mean, I lived just outside Dublin for a while and a new Italian run chippy opened up beside me, it was horrific. If you asked for a curry chip they'd mix some powder and water in a jug then microwave it in front of you and put it on some awful frozen chips.
I'm pretty sure most of the fast food places that were busy around me would be closed in Belfast, they all tasted like shit.

Anyway, all great growing up, fantastic and delicious but the kids took them over and they became dire, almost every one. Is Beshoffs still in Christchurch? That's the oldest one in Dublin right?

Maybe the one disadvantage with living in the wild west is the chippies, but on every other vector it is hands down better than over there 😉

He is the signing I'm most excited about (so far). I have a feeling we'll get a wonder goal from him by Xmas. The beautiful Serbian Kaka.
I hope he is up for the fight and physicality of the league. A front three of Lazar Sturridge and Sterling should scare the bejesus out of defenders. Technically able and lightning across the grass. Fastest front line in the league?

Im massively concerned we have buggered up our transfers.
Lallana and Lovren aside im unconvinced we have added sufficient quality to replace the third best player in the world.
If we concede 10 less with Lovren in the side we still need to add 20 more somewhere and thats just to finish second.
We still need a lot more to compete and I mean players who will come in and push straight into the first team.
Sturridge cannot win this league on his own.
