Hate to say it chaps, thats what we are now..

Cannot kill teams below or at our level but can give teams a game above our station...

We lack quality in the squad to compete..

its been that way for a while. fuck it, we've had a fair stint at the top, lets let city have a go

Exactly the same.. the squad lacks quality...

we have 20 mill winger who hasn't had a goal or assist all season and 35 million striker that prefers beer to football...

Without Adam Lucas & Suarez we would be royally fucked!!!

We now find ourselves in position again where we are holding on to a 1-0 lead against lesser opposition.. T0o many times this season we have failed to kill teams off..

And anyway Mid Tables 8th to 15th place, where do you think our mid table team should be in that zone?

technically 5th and lower is now midtable mediocrity. if you don't finish 4th or higher then who cares where you finish (as long as it isn't bottom 3).
 
Shit thread.

I agree, we need more attacking talent but we could've quite easily had a peno and 2/3 other goals from open play.

We've got the keeper and back four of a champions league side. Unfortunately without Gerrard we lack genuine class in the middle.

We need another shit hot forward, midfielder and winger.A Top four finish is going to be massively tough to attain and unless we splash some cash on some quality I cant see us doing quite enough to get it.

we're 6th now and that's where we've been around for 2 1/2 seasons now . should we get use to it ?

We've beaten all the teams 'above our station' except Tottenham in the last 12 months so forget about 'giving them a game'. Mid table is infinitely preferable to Administration and relegation which is what we were facing last year and are still recovering from. It's a new team still in its infancy so give it time. Rome wasn't built in a day

we're a work in progress so patience is required. and 4th would definately be success regardless of that '1st is 1st' saying.
 
4th is a step, I remember we used to get 4th (and better) a lot under Rafa, and people demanded his sacking!

Ohh how times change, now we crave 4th to be in with the 'big boys' .......

We play some lovely footy, we have strength in depth, we make a ton of chances every match, we have discovered our 'clean sheet' bonus' again, and we haven't actually 'clicked' just yet.

We are a 35 million pound striker away from fucking hammering teams..... We get a natural finsher and these chances we are creating will fly in. You have a Fowler, Owen or Torres up there and we'd be sorted. Thats should be our priorty in Jan a syriker.
