Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

Your premise is unsophisticated bullshit thinking though and you seem to have difficulty in imagining any different scenarios in their variables and nuanced context.
I have no reason to believe how asking for Salah to be replaced on the eve of a big game is a good idea in any shape or form. You start your best players, that's about it. If that's "unsophisticated bullshit" so be it. I really have nothing else to add to your scenarios.

It's always been the compromise with Mo. He has the class to affect the attacking play in the decisive moments better than any other player in the team, but he isn't a pressing, tough-tackling monster off the ball. That's always been the case, always will be, and the difference between winning and losing is often about how you make those compromises and accommodate them.
The big difference so far this season, as others have commented above, is that he isn't getting as much of the ball. He's holding his position out right while the play is graduating more to the left, perhaps because the team is trying to bring Wirtz into play more until he pops his cherry.
Mo either needs to (be instructed to) tuck inside a bit more so he can get more of the ball (but then his options and angles will be more limited), or else we need to go back to switching play more and giving him more of the ball (for which we need Mac back in the side, and an acceptance that if the opposing left back is wise to it then it'll be hit and miss, but the hit might just win us the game).
So yeah, I agree with the criticism that he is (more of) a passenger at the moment, but that's the nature of his game, so we either accommodate him more or give his minutes to someone who will get stuck in more - which probably means Jones plays, even when Mac is fit, and I'm sure everyone can get behind that.

Way to miss the point again…just read the fucking post…the unsophisticated bullshit thinking is your flat premise that if Salah hasn’t played we’d definitely only have two points right now. If you can’t see how ridiculous that is then I give up… let’s just leave it…

Well my point still stands RE your scenarios. You just pick on whatever you are unhappy while missing the main point. I guess that's more convenient.

I don't see how there is any other way but to leave it.

Every player on the pitch contributes to attacking and defending nowadays in some form or another.

Mo gets special treatment based on his record. Nobody else should.
To paraphrase Klopp, everyone needs to contribute to the press or it will all fail.

Leaving one man spare means they can pass through it.

To be fair, it’s not as if Mo is just standing around doing nothing.

He does press, he just doesn’t lead the press and our press is a little less intensive under Slot.

He does track back - just not all the time, which is fine because otherwise we’d end up being a low block side with little forward options - as it happen him staying forward is one of our most effect out balls.

They obviously aren’t central parts of his game, but to act like he’s Haalandesque is doing very little else for the team than scoring is just bizarre.

Also - I think people are going to be in for a rude awakening if they think his contribution will be easily replicated - we’ll see that when his replacement starts returning 12 goals and 6 assists a season - we’re clearly preparing for life without him by getting the goals and assists centrally from Isak/Ekitike and Wirtz.

I’d also probably point out that I don’t think Salah bears responsibility for any goal we’ve leaked this season.
