Bar Karius it seems odd Klopp has not signed any Germans.

I appreciate Matip & Klavan came from the league but surely there are other players we could attract?

Matip is German. Born and raised in Germany, has a father from Cameroon and a German mother. Chose to play for Cameroon.

He's signed, what, six players?

And half of them are German and/or were signed from the Bundesliga.

He's German. Look at his 'tache.
And he can wear it, I think our Joel is a handsome fella..

Is Viggo Mortensen really Danish?
I could also have answered that I believe he's actually less Danish than Matip is German, seeing as he's lived most of his life in the States and struggles a bit when he's asked to talk Danish. I am quite sure Matip is fluent like a boss in German.

They are both humans though. 100 percent.

I think the real question is if we will sign any German "edge of the seat" attacking players. No?

The question is really why we do not really appear to be looking at the German market.

Most managers look at their previous league as they know the players. How many "unheard of" players did Benitez sign from Spain. It seems surprising Klopp is not really looking in Germany where his reputation will be higher than elsewhere and presumably will know of players under the radar.

He's brought in three players from Germany. That's half of his transfers so far.

He's interested in Keita from Leipzig and also offered £11m for Dortmund's Pulisic last summer.

Your point is not valid.

Klopp tried to sign Clyde the glide Draxler and Mario Götze so it's not like he's not looking to get German players. Just hasn't worked out I guess.

I think German players who know Klopp realize they have to run like a dog in each game and have to weigh up playing for Klopp against their own physical well being over the course of a season. Not really hard to figure out is it ? If you are offered to do a job for the same money but know you dont have to work as hard as the next offer...i would go for the less stress option.

Not really - i dont see them lining up to play for the great Klopp. He seems to struggle to sign players of note from Germany especially those that have played for him in the past. Why would you play thet gen gen shit only to break down physically half way through the season ?. Much eaier to play for a Conte or a Jose.

Ah, come off it, Ahmed. He had no trouble signing them when he was at Dortmund, and he's by no means the only manager who plays a pressing game nowadays.

Yes young raw players that he developed. Much like the improvement we see in Lalana. But eventually i think they wise up and think...shit playing for this guy is wrecking me. No one does pressing or gen gen to the level we do.

Everyone was talking about us initially last season but at the same time thinking can they last like this for the whole season. Clearly not. Sadly the way we play is a way of trying to hide our defensive frailties which does not always work.

Even sadder is that I love the way we play and Klopp the manager.
