I can only assume that Edwards and co are okay with this season being a write off in the context of some larger grand plan. Us stupid little fans just don’t get it.

Slot will likely still be here next year no matter what happens. I don’t think we’d go for Alonso even if we decide to make a change.

I almost feel like having to be creative in the transfer market would be better for us after last summer but then I remember we are just as likely to sign no one citing the only signing the right players mantra.

Konate will go. We have huge issues in midfield. It needs surgery anyways but they all have contracts expiring in 1-2 years. Wouldn’t bank on any of them signing up.

You have to ask can Slot turn it around? To do that he needs to have

- Masterful Tactical knowledge
- Ability to inspire players
- Buy-in from players
- Excellent coaching staff

And there's nothing to suggest any of these are present. So why persist with him?

i honestly feel we need to land xabi if he’s the man we want, immediately. we might look an absolute mess in the summer and be operating on a really tight budget which we all know is extremely unattractive to new managers when taking on a ‘project’.

although it may well be too late for him to rescue top 5 it’s maybe the window of opportunity before he goes elsewhere. of course alonso might not be the right man but i’m getting close to certain slot isn’t either.
