Post Match Arsenal (H) 2-2 Sunday April 17th

You give a kid a loaded gun, you can't be surprised when someone gets shot. A reductionist comparison, but apt.

People were always going to boo. As much as there's hand wringing and disapproving tuts now; everybody expected some of the fanbase in the ground to react that way. We saw it away at Leicester.

Slot could have easily brought on quansah or endo for Bradley. But he didn't. He gave the dickheads on the terraces a chance to affect the team negatively and that is entirely on slot.

Yes, in an ideal world no one would boo and everyone would be mellow. When the fuck has this been an ideal world?
There’s me thinking the booers were grown adults that have gain maturity and believes in YNWA.

If you’re going to always go down to the lowest denominator then it’s always going to be the lowest standards.

The booing was poor. End.

No one is disputing that. But why invite the ire on to the pitch? Nothing was to be gained and lots to be lost

Are we genuinely expecting grown adults being fucking reasonable when it comes to football?? The club that fucking shunned karius and fans that gave him little to no support afterwards what must still give him nightmares? A fanbase that STILL calls michael owen, steve mcmanaman and fernando torres Judas??
Our fanbase is as vile as a majority of them and we act like our shit don't stink.

Yes, it's a shame he was booed, but lets drop the facade that it was shocking that ours fans did

Again, we're a massive club wit ha massive fanbase; there's going to be cunts that take shit too far. Trent should be thankful he never got the Gerrard treatment and didn't have his family threatened.

Would anybody agree that Slot did it to simply win the game, whilst avoiding a highly possible red card for Conor, probably anticipating SOME booing, but not so much that it would alter the entire mood of the stadium..?

Not every decision that doesn't work out is deserving of the shite been thrown around today... And, for the record, I was shocked that he was booed so lustily, because, as somebody argues a page or two back, that's hurting the team to vilify an individual, and I'd expect better. Call me naive all you'd like, but I know that I'm not alone in this.

Yeah i personally think it was slot just wanting to protect bradley, and didn't really expect the level of grief trent got. PErhaps i'm overthinking it with slot and it's as face value as it seems. Just seemed a risk to me, but i've been a liverpool fan for nearly 40 years, so perhaps i'm a little more aware of what the fanbase might react like than slot

Ultimately it's a learning experience for slot, and for the rest of the squad. Our fans are passionate but can be a fickle bunch. No player or manager is bigger than the club

Currently listening to the Redmen TV podcast.
Those who were at Anfield yesterday are saying that the boo's clearly effected our game.
One of them even says that he thinks Gravy miscontrolled the ball before they scored because of it.
Konate also tried to avoid passing the ball to Trent.
The players were clearly shocked and that's on Slot.
Whats he supposed to do Modo? Save it for the parade? Its done now, people have vented one way or the other, hopefully thats it and the boo gobshites have said their peace.

If he wasn't played and then he got shit at the parade it would overshadow that too.

I agree. I expect better from our fans. That's not to say I don't know there are a load of complete twats among the fanbase, but that there are standards that the decent fans uphold by setting an example to the idiots.

I hope this whole episode reminds people that part of our claim to be special is acting with a bit more class and dignity than the average fan. It's not just about vociferous support.

I’d respect the rat if he didn’t say he wanted to be a legend, captain the club and give us more trophies to then turn his back on us.
I'm fine with things changing. No one is the same forever

What I'm not fine with is doing shite fucking celebrations which now transpire to be AT our fans

Hes got no respect for the fanbase

Was literally going to post exactly this. That stupid chatting gesture at West Ham fucking sums him up for me. Not even just the gall of it, but the self-obsession to deliberately do the exact same one Bellingham did, like he was really revelling in the attention.

I'm sorry but all the evidence is that the lad is a complete fucking weapon.

I just don't think we should lower ourselves to his level by booing him. Support the team all the more instead, that would've been the best way to respond.

Honestly I don't know the vibe is in Liverpool, but I'm just going by what they said on Redmen TV and they're match goers.
They're the ones saying that the trophy celebration can get nasty, especially if they decide to do some kind of farewell thing for Trent.
And the bus tour is one beer can away from becoming nasty.
Does LFC and the City need the headlines?

I agree. Problem is i wonder whether his ego would have thought the cheers were for him

I don't think the parade will be an issue tbh. If the club do a thing for trent at the end of the season, there will be boos. I don't agree with them, but they will be there.
