Think there's a bit more sympathy for collymore because he struggled with mental problems

Cisse was just a tit lord

Him being intelligent is irrelevant anyway and I doubt it was as good as saying "it's ok because he's a bright lad".

They're both bellends, let's be honest, neither deserve any sympathy for being wife beaters. Most abusers find some shite excuse to hide behind. I doubt Stan twatted Ulreka while out on the piss because he was 'depressed'.

TBF I've listened to a 'serious' Collymore debate about depression on TalkSport a few months ago & the lad is seriously intelligent about a lot of things, & speaks very well (albeit in an annoying fucking accent) & candidly about his depression & how it effects him. His doctor was also on & described some of his symptoms too.

Whilst I think there's some of the things you can attribute him doing to simply him being a cock, it's only fair to consider that his depression his contributed to much of his behaviour.

So Cisse, for beating his wife "deserves to be called a cunt"

Stan Collymore, on the other hand, who knocked the fucking shit out of his then girlfriend is... "a seriously intelligent lad".
[/quote]

Anyone who beats their partner (male or female BTW) is a cunt. That includes Collymore, he's still a cunt. He just happens to have a whole lot more to him than most people thought. His daft, outspoken views on football aside he is actually intelligent, or reasonably so for a footballer anyway. He also suffers from depression which does explain some of his behaviour, it doesn't excuse it anyway though.

You'd think Ulrika would have learned to shut the fuck up. It's one thing getting beaten up by one bastard, but when it's happened four times you really should take a look at yourself

Andy Carroll will undergo a strict training regime this summer as he discovers his Liverpool honeymoon is over.

It was no coincidence that the £35million striker made an early return to pre-season training last week as manager Kenny Dalglish’s backroom staff attempt to get the most expensive English footballer fully fit for the first time this year.

Dr Peter Brukner, Liverpool’s Head of Sports Medicine and Sports Science and fellow Australian fitness and conditioning coach Darren Burgess will attempt to knock 22-year-old Carroll back into shape after an injury-hit start to his Anfield career. Just over five months after moving from Newcastle, there are already significant voices warning Carroll he must improve his attitude, self-discipline and fitness if he is to become a success.

A source close to Carroll said: “Andy hasn’t been fit since injuring a thigh against Tottenham on December 28. He never played for Newcastle again and it was another 10 weeks before he kicked a ball for Liverpool.

That was a long time to be out and he didn’t really recover. He picked up several niggling injuries but knows he has to hit the ground running next season.

“He has been told he is going to be worked hard in pre-season and it is a big challenge now for him to reach peak physical condition.

He is aware questions are being raised over his attitude and lifestyle and it is now up to him to put in the required effort to prove the doubters wrong.” Some senior Anfield figures felt Carroll would have benefited fitness-wise from going to Denmark for the European Under-21 Championship with England last month even though Dalglish was happy to let him pull out citing injury concerns.

The alternative was to allow him to return late for pre-season and Dalglish was against that. But pictures of Carroll living it up with former Newcastle team-mates Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan at the Glastonbury music festival and sunning himself in Barbados with Wayne Rooney and other football pals have not helped improve his image.

One Twitter critic queried last week: “Has anyone ever seen a photo of Andy Carroll when he doesn’t have a drink in his hand?” England boss Fabio Capello has warned him to cut down on his drinking, but despite that, he is still a frequent visitor to licensed premises on Merseyside and Tyneside – even though he claims to be teetotal.

Already there are hints that the negativity surrounding him could damage his England prospects.

It is no secret that when Carroll joined Liverpool in January they were surprised at his poor physical condition. So far he has played seven hours and 26 minutes of Premier League football for them.

Tellingly, Liverpool’s two most devastating displays during the run-in – a 5-0 home romp over Birmingham and a stunning 5-2 win at Fulham – came without him.

Carroll has tremendous potential but an alarming lack of self-awareness and disregard for discipline are holding him back.

In the late 1980s Dalglish was thwarted by Tottenham when he wanted to take on the challenge of taming another Gateshead youngster, Paul Gascoigne.

Many who know Carroll well believe keeping him on the straight and narrow is just as big a test.

He's made the paper today for his bust up and fight with his half-brother.

"Before long Andy was punching Mark and Mark was grabbing Andy's hair. Then Andy pinned Mark to the side of the boat and stuck his thumb in his eye.

"Mark tried to fend him off and bit his thumb. Then Andy's dad pinned Mark down while Stephen started punching his brother.

"Andy bit Mark's thumb in revenge. Their mum Susan had to prise Andy off." Carroll then ordered Mark and Irene off the boat. Our source says: "He was yelling, 'F*** off back to your scumbag friends, your scumbag house and your scumbag lives. Where are you going to go? You've got no money - you'll soon come crawling back with your tail between your legs.'"

Mark hadn't enough money for flights home - so he rang the yacht's first mate who later gave him some of Carroll's tip. Our source says: "He had seen the fight and said he wanted to help 'good people'. When Mark got home he tried to play it all down - but he was covered in cuts and bruises and had a septic thumb." A concerned friend gave the News of the World pictures of his wounds.

Carroll has a history of violence. He had to pay £11,000 to a girl he attacked outside a club in 2008 and was fined £1,000 for gashing another clubber's face in 2009. In 2010, a training ground incident at Newcastle left team-mate Steven Taylor with a broken jaw. Signing for Liverpool, Carroll said: "I have made mistakes but they are behind me."

A source close to the player said: "The brothers did have a disagreement and Mark was asked to leave the yacht.

"Perhaps it wasn't settled in the most friendly of ways, but there are two sides to every story. Andy doesn't feel he's the one in the wrong."

Haha. Of course he did.

Glad to hear Andy won. Hopefully, he'll carry that trend into the season

I hope alot of this is blown out of proportion? Seriously, if AC continues to get publicity for off the field antics - we could have a huge liability on our hands. The post should be renamed "Carroll (the new joey barton&quot😉

AFAIK Carroll's never claimed to be teetotal.

He was with my mates for a lot of Glastonbury. At one point he set fire to Barton's shirt whilst he was wearing it!
