While that's all true, we shouldn't lose any sleep over missing out on Clichy. If City are hoping he'll stern up the defence after Kolorov's shortcomings, they're sadly mistaken. There are better players than Clichy who would jump at the chance to come here.

That is exactly the point; it is going to be difficult to compete with CL clubs,but it isnt impossible. As long as we keep looking for mediocre players to come to this mediocre club, we will stay mediocre.
