A few articles are suggesting we're looking at Mickey Van De Ven (transfermakt rate him at €65M /£57M)

I think he's rather marmite on her. I'm defo in the "Yes, Please" camp

[Suggestions for a better title VERY welcome!]

Fine for the summer, but every chance that won't be for arne

Another issue is why didn't we just go for him when spurs did. I hate our approach sometimes

Maybe because then we didn't have a coach that prefers three at the back inbound

Pray GIF

I talked in the Guehi thread about us probably spending more on a lesser player.
This is precisely what I meant.
I mean, he's very quick and err... that's it.
Maybe someone's just trolling Isak.

As said previously I'd love us to sign Schlotterbeck. 1 year left on his contract as well.
I really like him and there's value there, but he's been horribly plagued by injuries

If we're spending big then you spend on the only thing the Italians are good for - centre backs

Bring me Bastoni

I've been in a "watch the world burn" mood for a few weeks, due to our cunt of a manager. So, I honestly don't like the fact that we're spending money when he's around. Why don't they just sack him? Feels like we're doing an Amorim and just throwing money into a pit.

I saw someone else say that, but he really hasn't if you look at it closely. 2 seasons with 2 injuries were he has missed 20 games (hamstring in 2020 and meniscus in 2024), and then has averaged 3-5 games missed per season for the rest of his career. I don't think thats to bad in all honesty.

Don't understand the point here. There's no real connection between club (not the Head Coach) buying players that the Head Coach doesn't say "No" to, and who has the Head Coach role

TBH Id be totally fucked off if the clubs position was NOT to buy a CB to cover for Leoni's loss because they are unsure of who they want as Head Coach

The point is, I don't think he'll turn it around. So why spend anything. Also, Dutch CB?

Murillo is still my #1 choice for CB.

He's a mad man and that's probably why I like him.

& Continuing to fuck around with Ibou's contract is lame too, spending £50-60m on a 2nd CB who'll be on 150k a week and may not even be as good, nevermind better, seems like a really fucking dumb idea.

Either the clubs buying decision is Head Coach lead or it isn't. It doesn't change to suit an argument. We've been led to believe that the club has a team, under the DoF, who select the players of interest and the Head Coach gets a veto.

So whether it's Arne or anyone else has fuck all to do with it bar saying "No"

Is this the time where we start floating lots of links to who we are going to buy in the summer, because we didn't fill that necessary position last summer? Is that what we are doing instead of buying someone now?

It's not but they're looooong injuries. It's always a concern once they've had operations
