My guess would be they won't set a fee as high as £50 mill because that might well ensure that Guehi went nowhere this year, which in turn would mean he'll run his contract down and leave on a free in 12 months' time.
I'd be willing to go a shade over £40 mill (£42 mill.tops) to get the deal done because I rate Guehi and think he'd do well with us.

It's not his strongest point as he's not the tallest CB out there, but he's mustard in all other respects and top class football's not played through the air as much as it used to be anyway.
Palace fans say he is very good in the air despite his height.
Good to know. I checked on the stats and he's not that high on the list in terms of heading but, if fans who see him every week do rate him in that respect, that's got to mean something.
If he instructs his agent to refuse to engage with other clubs then Palace are in a tricky position. He won't mind staying and playing with them regularly in a WC year so they need to decide now much that year is worth to them. I think Palace are sensible enough to sell and replace.
From our POV, I'd hope for no more than £40m. If his agent starts creating a bidding war then it's time to reevaluate.
