CrampInjured!
That would be great news. Given the risk that we are taking, I do think we should pay a little more that what might make sense with a year left on his contract. We are hugely vulnerable to any injury. Our best back-up CB seems to be Gravy, who has no real back-up for DM role.Cramp
Parish was on quote saying either he signs a contract, or he wants a conclusion this window.Guardian reporting the Palace want to sell this window, as they don’t want to lose him
On a free.
Guehi has us as his preferred destination and is also willing to wait until end of season and go on a free.
We’ve been rumoured to value him seeking £29m and Palace want £40m.
There’s a deal there to be done, whether it’s add-ons or other players - I reckon around £35m is where it lands, but Palace will obviously be hoping someone else trys to drive up the price.
I reckon this gets done.
He played a good game yesterday. His passing was particularly impressive.
Still a short arse but for the right fee I’d have him in the CB group.
@Dreambeliever posted it in the transfer threadI heard on the channels that there was some kind of lovers embrace between Slot and Guehi with VVD looking over them ? - any pics or vids of that from the SCM intelligence unit ?
This is a good thing because VVD's performances fade in a WC year, the last time he played in a WC year he did that VVD Aura thing at Old Toilet and let Sancho score against him and Milner had a right go at him. You see I don't think VVD will try that hard in a WC year because his starting position is guaranteed and he will be more concerned about making sure he don't get injured and go to ground. I also worry about the commitment about our midfielders - they won't want to miss out and will not run into the ground to get injured. It's only those players that are on the fringes of the national team who want to play and get picked that will try.I guess a bit of a concern for both of them (Konate and Guehi) is that in a WC season they'll want to be sure they get enough game time to make their respective national squads.
Its likely we will get both Isak and Ekitike.

So in conclusion - I think both Konate and Guehi will both play more games than any of us lot think. Neither are guaranteed starters for their respective national team(s).
His ball into box the box was the opposite of those shite floaty Henderson balls we all used to hate.Guehi looks like he could also fill in as a defensive midfielder when Gravy is dry.
He'll be perfect for us this season. His character and leadership have been tried and tested, which is something we can't have enough of.
Really hope we make this happen
Of the players we have, I would say VVD, and Salah may decide not to go all out. Everyone else in the team I expect usual levels. Also, there is enough historical evidence of players not going full out during WC years in case of injury. So just so as to clarify - half our players won’t be trying hard because of the World Cup?
Does this apply to players in other teams, or it’s just Liverpool that have signed unprofessional patriots?
Can we expect to see Everton win the league on account of most of their players being too shit to go to the WC?
Dunno mate, we’re a CB injury from trouble. It's been an unusual transfer season where this has not made an appearance, but I think it may be time ...

30-35m would be a steal for a player of Guehi’s quality, age and experience
