Seeing us being linked with Downing makes me wonder why we aren't after N'zogbia.
He's the cheaper, younger and better(IMO) option.

And he's black 😉 spider.

Excellent player who'd instantly improve us on the left flank. Young, prem proven and ambitious.

Anyone with half a brain who's seen him a few times this season will agree he'd be a great little pick up for us, he's far better than a Wigan player this season, has pace, skill and goals in him, would cost less than Enrique and is still only mid 20s.

I wouldn't mind N'Zogbia as long as he isn't the only winger we sign. 9 goals and 7 assists in a poor Wigan side is a good achievement although I think he gives most of their set pieces.

How much do you guys reckon N'Zogbia + McCarthy would cost if Wigan get relegated? Something like £12-15m would sound good to me and would well strengthen the squad.

I've only seen Wigan on a few occasions this season and to the best of my recollection he was always in a wide attacking role. As he has been all of his career bar a few months playing as an emergency LB for Newcastle.

I think N'Zogbia and Carroll also have some fighting history from Newcastle I think.

I didn't mean to compare him to Enrique, it's just nobody has a problem (or not much of one) spending up to £15M on a LB, less than that on a winger entering his prime doesn't seem a big deal to me.

Liverpool are lining up a £7m bid for Wigan Athletic winger Charles N’Zogbia, according to Setanta Sports.

The report claims that if a Liverpool move for Aston Villa’s Stuart Downing falls down then manager Kenny Dalglish will turn his attentions to N’Zogbia.

The French international was the hero for Wigan last weekend as his two goals helped relegate West Ham and give the Latics a fighting chance of staying in the Premier League.

However, if Roberto Martinez’s side are consigned to the Championship this Sunday then Wigan will almost certainly lose one of their main assets.

Liverpool have also been heavily linked to Aston Villa star Ashley Young.

Depends on how high your expectations are.
Personally I think Nzogbia is very underrated.

Of course it would be nice if we got someone like Mata but Nzogbia is a proven premiership player. He's still quite young and we can get him for half of what we'll pay Valencia for Mata.
