this is concerning then, i’ve never been overly convinced that coaching can ever replace natural talent in regard to finishing. you can definitely be taught things that’ll get you more goals a season but if you don’t have ‘it’ people will still want to smash their tvs watching you.
Agreed. Coaching can make the best of what you've got, but it can't give you what you haven't got.

Xg is a weird formula that doesn't account for a lot of things, and over simplifies others.
Add in the fact he's 22 and was playing 2nd fiddle to marmoush for half a year, then had to change how he played for the 2nd half of the year, in a struggling side; I'm fucking fine with it
xG isn't massively complicated. It's based on how often someone has scored from that position in the past. If you're underperforming every year then you're not that good and we shouldn't be interested. If you're over performing every year you're Salah. If you overperform once and swindle a living out of it you're the donkey.

The only issue I have is that this EkiTecki guy is the sort that if he has 2 good seasons then RM will knock on his door and he will make a secret deal with them. Where are you getting those numbers? His goals to xg is absolute dogshit and nowhere near Salah's. 'he gets chances but misses' isn't a good reason to buy him.

Have to agree, and that last point - isn't that what we said about Nunez in the seasons he has been with us ?
Also, our issue should be that - we are going to pay big money for a player in that position - his numbers should at least offer us some assurances that he will bang and score from the word go, no project players or any of that shit - we need the final article.

It's actually not. You can see with your own eyes when people playing for your team or a competitor are better or worse than average, but is a great method of how to score people you don't know.
