Any suggestions? I've got one - Faouzi Ghoulam of St. Etienne.

22 year old Algerian - he's quick, and has a peach of a left-foot. Very good going forward, but like all good attacking left-backs, he's probably not the greatest defender. But he is young, and would develop very nicely I reckon. He's relatively unheard of outside France, so I don't think he'd cost much either.

Willems - I've seen him like twice, and he's been diabolical. @cloggypop should know better.

Pereira is some 28, isn't he? Don't want Enrique's competition to be older than him.

Willems has looked shite every time I have seen him too. He is still only 19 and keeps getting picked for the Netherlands but he probably only has Blind as competition there and we could have gone for him on a free.

I havent been impressed by Willems either tbh. But he's a obvioulsy talented lad with great pace. 19 and will only get better but I feel we need someone who is better than what we got and can go directlly in to the starting eleven. Pereira is probably to old I agree. Not many top left backs about tbh.

Sunderland were after him last year, price is around 3 million. He's a good attacking left back/ wing back. Would be a good cheap option for Liverpool.

I think Shaw would be too expensive but it would solve the left back problem for another decade. I also like Santon at Newcastle, I think hes a decent young full back can play either side

I reckon it's more a matter of the Toon doing well at the moment and Santon riding the wave. I've seen him have some pretty ropey games in his time and am not convinced about him myself.
