Pre Match - Chelsea (A) - Sunday 16:30

I've been off the Chelsea hate train for years now.

But with Lampard at the helm, I'm getting back into 2005 peak Chelsea hatred.

Same, theyve had some managers I dont hate which blunted my rage towards them, but Lampard and his fat head have put them right back up there. I still hate Utd more than any grown man should

I was disappointed that it wasn't mentioned, in the media coverage of Lampard's tantrum about our 'misbehaving' coaching staff, that Chelsea, as Lampard knows only too well, surely have had the worst-behaved bench in the whole league, and have had it for years. Thanks to that insane little tit Rui Faria, when Mourinho was in charge, there was usually an argument raging between the dug outs throughout each game. The atmosphere was so poisonous that even a mild-mannered bloke like Ray Wilkins ended up as an eye-popping loon during some games. Yet now Lampard tries to claim they're masters of decorum. Bollocks.

Sounds like Thiago will be included in the 18 – but it would make sense to bring him off the bench for the first game. I'm sure whoever is selected in the midfield 3 will be playing out of their skin with Thiago watching on.

As much as I like Keita, I would go:

----Wijnaldum---Henderson
---------------Fabinho-----------

I like the idea of having Fabinho behind Firmino upfront.

I get it, & if I thought Chelsea were going four at the back, I agree, but if Chelsea go three/five at the back, then Keita may make more sense tactically.

Lampard has become someone I really dislike. He's a snide little shit. He also doesn't seem to realise that you start anew when you become a manager - it's no good boasting about what you won as a player in order to demand respect from other managers. You never heard Dalglish do that, or Gerrard now. I guess because Fwank went to public school he has an ingrained sense of entitlement that can't help but come through.
It was the fact he continued his handbags with Klopp after the match had finished which pissed me off. You can always understand competitive individuals snapping at each other in a pressured match, but everyone in sport that accepts that behaviour ends at the final whistle.

That was a really poor example to his players and a sign of his character. I did wonder if he's trying to start some faux rivalry with us, similar to his days with Jose, but I'm not convinced he's bright enough for that.

It's difficult to pick a team and bench with the options we have now - feels great to say that !

With Chelsea's injury woes I fancy us to win 1-2 or maybe 1-3

......................... Becker

TAA ..... Gomez ........ VvD ........ Robbo

.......................... Fabs

............ Hendo ............. Thiago / Keita
(whoever starts gets swapped for the other later, ditto Hendo for Gini)

..... Salah. ........ Firmino .......... Mane

Adrian, Tsimikas, Matip, Thiago/Keita, Gini, Jones, Minamino, Origi.

NB 1 : That's 8 on the bench but it's going to be tough to decide who even makes that in future! You decide who you'd like on it.
NB 1 : I'm assuming Jota didn't get registered in time for this game and that Brewster is going out on loan.

Nah. Not this time.

I think we will need to be a lot sharper up front and at the back than last week to get a result today.
I suspect there will be plenty of balls played into that space between Trent and Gomez for Werner to run on to.

Yeah if our defence have sorted themselves out then we should do well. But fuck knows.

We’ll be super tight at the back, a Virgil masterclass.

Salah on fire and Mane chipping in.

0-3

I don't think we will even see Thiago on the bench as a option today. It goes against the team ethic and preparation that Klopp focuses on over and over. He's had one session? Maybe?

I would like this as the starting group with Keita, with Gini, Jones, and Minamino as the possible subs, unless there is an injury to address.

I am almost always wrong.
