I originally "purchased" Coric instead of Dolberg, I'm still a fan of Coric but looking at the squad it was clear we have more pressing need for a finisher and a "pivot" in attack rather than another AM, at least while Coutinho is here. So Origi goes on loan to prove himself before a decision is made about his future (and same for Ings, coming off a lengthy injury lay-off), while 2 highly-rated young attackers come in.

The midfield, left-back and CB situation will be sorted with 3 quality purchases to replace Lucas and Klavan and give competition to Milner. We probably won't buy a goalkeeper as Mignolet seemed to improve his game and Karius will be hoping to show what he's about next season. Overall, I think if we somehow pull off all these purchases it would be a very talented squad with enough quality and depth to compete well in the EPL and in Europe, but probably still lacking a bit of experience to win a major trophy.

Doubt we'll sign one this summer. Klopp seems happy with Ming and Karius.
If we can get Van Djik for 35 mill I'm all for it, but if Soton want 50 mill we wont be interested.
He'd be a perfect fit though.

Don't ask for much do you Rurik! No way we'll sign Dolberg for £30million for him to be fourth choice.

That's not for one position, is it? If we sign him, I think it will be either him or Firmino in the middle, flanked by two wingers.

You're buying too many youngsters. So forget the likes of Mbappe and Dolberg. What we need is more mature established players, they don't have to be world-beaters, because obviously that isn't going to happen. Maybe unrecognised for their full worth - that's for the scouting team to unearth.

Klavan and Origi are going nowhere, it's obvious Klopp relies on them and trusts them as able replacements when required. I'd suggest that Woodburn will continue to be part of the 1st team squad next season too. I've no problem with that if he's going to turn out to be as good as an Owen or Rooney then he doesn't need to be shipped out on loan.

However if you look at the average age of PL winning teams it's never as low as ours. We have the 2nd youngest in the league (virtually identical to Spurs' though) at 23.xx. The average PL winning squad age is in the range of 27. We need to add more maturity, that will likely improve results when we hit poor patches as every team does.

So I kinda disagree completely with that post Froggy..

Doubt we'll get anything for Lucas, he is out of contract. If the club sells Sturridge and Moreno for those figures you've quoted, well they need to be shot! Both are worth way more than that especially Sturridge. Flog them to China for heaven sake. Lazar should be sold and hopefully for £12m plus.
The Monaco pairing we can forget about, out of our league. I think we need a GK and DM just as much as a striker. I would go for

Kolasinac upto £10m signing on fee just to secure his services but keep it undisclosed.
Timo Werner (CF/Wings) £30m
Dolberg (CF) £30m
Lars Bender (DM) £35m
Jack Butland/Joe Heart/Kasper (GK) £25m
Anderson Talisca (AM) £20m
Christian Pulisic (Wings) £30m
£180m Spent

Sell
Ming £15m
Karius £15m
Sturridge £35 plus (to the Chinese, and tell those East End Monkeys to F'OFF)
Moreno £12m
Lazar £12m
Origi £18m
Allen De Souza £7m
Emre Can £27m
Income £144m

Net spend £34m

With Kolasinac at LB, it then free's up Milner who can almost play anywhere so Emre Can will get little playing time at CM. Origi again time to cash in on. Ming and Karius are both very suspect, get rid of.

We're not gonna sell Karius, and I doubt we'll sell Ming either. Think Karius will be expected to start as our nr 1 next season. Thats what I imagine Klopp is thinking at least.

Fantasty Football?

Well, I can't help what Klopp does and i hope this isn't one his Immobile moments were he can't see the player is not upto task.I personally would get rid of both of them, neither fill me with any confidence.

No, stupid is paying £20m for Downing, £35m for Carrol, £20m Lazar, and £16m for Balotelli (and then let him go for free).

So I kinda disagree completely with that post Froggy..
As is your right mate but
a) suggesting splashing 90M on an 18 and a 19 yo is downright foolhardy and
b) the facts are the facts. We've been playing the 'young team will mature' card for a while now. Fact is they never mature as a team because not all will make it so buying another youngster who may or may not make it to replace one who has failed has never proven to be the way forward from rags to riches.
c) people talk about our team lacking leadership ... that's hardly much of a surprise considering the lack of experience as a team (ave. age 23).

Have you seen the figured banded about for players this year, it's crazy. I gave you an example above (Carroll for £32m).

Yea but people have seen how shit Ming is. Karius, you may forgive him as it's first season, however both don't give confidence to any defence. Strikers will always go for more, we could probably get 20 million for Ings and he has been injured for 2 seasons, so the figures for caroll aren't too crazy.

£15m is a low figure in today's market. Karius does not want to be a number 2 and i think there are better number 1's out there (for GK position), and that's why I say we sell him.

The only we will sell Lucas is if we pay 5 million to someone.

It's been proven already....no body will want the hapless excuse for a footballer..

Lucas £1bn

Messi £333m
Suarez £333m
Neymar £333m
Konchesky £1m

Couple of seasons a go PSG threatened to trigger Messi's buyout clause which I think was £215m. The touted transfer value for Ronaldo I think is £80-£100m and that's when he was 31.

If we get even 2 of those players, I'll be amazed ...

I'd be more amazed if we could get £5m for the out-of-contract Lucas.

In fact, I'd be amazed if we could get £5m for him if he had a long term contract.
