UK General Election 24/25

He's a bit like Dianne Abbott. Both have done loads for their actual constituency, so are pretty popular with the locals.

But to those outside they are unpopular.

Corbyn currently has the highest approval rating of any UK politician. Be surprised if Starmer gets as many votes as he got. People just aren't arsed about this election.

A fairly good indicator that Corbyn has a good chance of winning his seat is the number of Starmerite Labour people tweeting about how they are canvassing there, everyone is voting Labour, everyone has Labour posters up, everyone hates Corbyn etc etc.

I mean, it's a week before polling day. If that's true, those people wouldn't be still hanging around in a safe Labour seat.

That's probably where they are going wrong.
They need to add something to give it some flavour.

Should have taken the easy option and got the superior stuff from the north thanks to that Brexit open border.

There’s your Brexit bonus… you Southerners can still get access to decent Tayto.

That's a lot of balls!

That joke works on two levels.

Seriously though, one tayto is owned by Germans and the other is locally owned... Also, one actually has a castle.

Starmer should have rightly argued the point to begin with that Labour needs the likes of the S*n's endorsement to win an election, and that's even in times when the Tories do their upmost to kick themselves out the door. Everyone saw how the right wing press turned on Corbyn in an instant.

Ultimately it's not Liverpool that Labour need to convince or win, and it never will be.

So if I'm getting this right Labour vote held or grew a tiny spot but the seismic factor is Farage. Reform have killed the tories and may have significant seats.

I can't wait to see Farage gloat :-/

Tory vote:

North -24%
Midlands -29%
South -23%
London -16%
Scotland -10%
Wales -18%

Pretty much all down to reform - that I didn't see

Massive reform vote in Sunderland. Still a 7,000 majority for labour
Sunderland Central is safe-sh Labour

Last time round it was 18k vs 15k for the tories and 5k for 'Brexit'
This time is 18k labour and 11k reform + 5k Tories

II fear that the tone of this election is the split of tory votes to the right whilst Labour have retained the whole of the left

Interesting. It's not quite the tory wipe out some polls were suggesting. It was always clear that there is not much excitement with voters around the Labour Party, but more than enough willing to give them the chance. Given where Labour were four years ago this is a huge result and hopefully enough to secure two terms in office.

Personally I'm buzzing.

The Reform vote is concerning, though. It underlines how many closet racists exist in the UK and how susceptible we are to Russian interference. The amount of Reform propaganda is I've seen on Tiktok in the last month, regardless of my preferences, has been insane.

The Tories always do better than the polls on election day. Cause those cunts aren’t going to admit their kink to a pollster, but they’ll indulge it in the polling booth when no-one’s watching. Happens every time.

I think you are describing the new Reform voters
