Post Match Arsenal (H) 2-2 Sunday April 17th

Currently listening to the Redmen TV podcast.
Those who were at Anfield yesterday are saying that the boo's clearly effected our game.
One of them even says that he thinks Gravy miscontrolled the ball before they scored because of it.
Konate also tried to avoid passing the ball to Trent.
The players were clearly shocked and that's on Slot.

It shocked me tbh... on the other side of the world... it was a dumb move by all involved ranging from Trent for announcing when he had no need to, to Slot putting him on at all... to the crowd booing... all a fucking shitshow...

It doesn't matter when considered in light of the trophy at the end of it but... It shudna happened

Could’ve sworn Trent came on after 67mins and not 45, it’s a load of fucking bollocks is what it is.

Robbo being shit at finishing has nothing to do with Trent’s reaction and Ibou being a bozo always wanting to be over assertive also has nothing to do with Trent’s reaction.

How would this help that? Real didn't need the fans to know the situation to be able to negotiate with LFC, who've obviously known for ages.
If he hadn't officially told us (the club) he is leaving, how does Real negotiate for an early release?

If he had officially told the club, it is either him releasing the info to the public, or we (the club) will.

Gravy miscontrolled the ball right before Arsenal scored the equaliser.

I mean TAA may feel he doesn't deserve it to end this way, well, he's right but this is the path he's chosen.

He did us one. Don't expect to be celebrated after this

Why would the club release the info??

I don't get the argument. If the club knew he was leaving (which they obviously have done for a couple of months), then Real have been free to negotiate with them since that point. What the fans do or don't know is irrelevant.

I honestly don't get the respect RM get. "If Madrid come calling.... you can't say no". Of course you can. They win a lot because they are the original state backed club. Feck that.

It’s on the booers

You give a kid a loaded gun, you can't be surprised when someone gets shot. A reductionist comparison, but apt.

People were always going to boo. As much as there's hand wringing and disapproving tuts now; everybody expected some of the fanbase in the ground to react that way. We saw it away at Leicester.

Slot could have easily brought on quansah or endo for Bradley. But he didn't. He gave the dickheads on the terraces a chance to affect the team negatively and that is entirely on slot.

Yes, in an ideal world no one would boo and everyone would be mellow. When the fuck has this been an ideal world?

You can draw that comparison in all walks of life. We had a loyal high performing employee for 10 years who lied to his colleagues and then left to join our biggest rival. Do you think he got a great send off for the 10 years or a fuck you, don’t let the door hit you on the way out,

Crouch’s comments to Rio on it being an us vs the world for scousers was spot on. As Klopp says it’s not important what people think when you walk in. It’s far more important what they think on your way out. Like it or not a lot of fans are disgusted (I’m definitely one) I can understand why he did what he’s done but I’m not about to give him a free pass because he’s been here and won everything before turning his back on his teammates, his manager, the staff, the club, the fans and city. For Fucking Real Madrid no less. He can get fucked and of course he was always going to get booed. You’re entitled to disagree strongly with that view but being self righteous about it is odd imo.

I am also pissed off at him DB... I just wish we'd of ignored the cunt

The girl on the podcast makes an interesting point. Trent right now would have preferred to have left with Liverpool finishing 4th because it would have been a much easier decision to make.

I get it...when it's about Latin Americans. Why the fuck do Brits care about those fucking teams?

Exactly. Easier to leave the also rans, past their period of success, than league champions.

Not even just Latin for me; I understand Latin Americans and central Europeans. I don't understand Brits

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the club will handle the Trent situation in the next two games. I have feeling that the decision will be taken away from Slot. Maybe he can play him at Brighton, but does the club really want to risk boo's during the trophy lift?
The media has had a field day with this. Cunt pundits who didn't want him to play at RB for England suddenly have an opinion about him being boo'ed.

Also think of the fans, why parade his face right in front of those fans, be it right or wrong, on a day of joy and celebration.

He absolutely deserves to lift the trophy but he's made his own bed.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph... Look up 'overreaction' in the dictionary, and it'll link to this thread. Also see 'We just won the fucking league, would yiz all relax, for pity's sake'.

I totally agree but he shudda kept his mouth shut and just slipped off... there was no need for yesterday "rejection" festival... it soured things... including our reputation for being good supporters... alround sad

You are working on the assumption that the club prefer to do things under closed doors and that the club, which has zero bargaining power at this point, will be at the beck and call of Trent / Real, and do whatever they want, announce whenever they want, even when Trent has formally told the club he is signing for Real.

I don't know what is more ludicrous.

I've got no fucking idea what point you're trying to make.

Why would the fans knowing he is leaving help Madrid in their negotiations with Liverpool? It doesn't make any sense.

Wow, maybe you shouldn't delve into something you have no ability to understand in the first place.

As far as I understand it, your claim is that Madrid can't negotiate with Liverpool when Madrid know he's leaving and Liverpool know he's leaving but the fans do NOT know he's leaving, but CAN negotiate when the fans ALSO know he's leaving. And they therefore have pushed him to reveal the information to the fans so that negotiations can begin.

Is that not right? Because if that's your argument I think it makes zero sense. I don't see how the fans knowing has any bearing on those negotiations whatsoever.

Let me try one last time.

5th May Trent announced his decision to leave the club, officially.
6th May Real announced their intention to negotiate with Liverpool for an early release, officially.

Between Liverpool and Real, before 5th May, there was nothing to negotiate since Trent did not officially announce his decision to sign for Real.
But Real wants him early so they / Trent have to act now, rather then later.

Kapish? If it is still a blur for you then you can assume whatever you want.

There was a shit load of naivety yesterday. I hated the booing because it elevates what the player has decided to do over the present needs of the club to win a fucking game. Boo the fucker off the field when Madrid come on a Wednesday night, but stfu whilst the reds are playing a game with him in our side. You are putting personal feelings for an individual above the club and it is fucking daft. That being said, this is on Slot. Leave Trent out of the squad from here on.

Ok so I was right. Your entire premise is wrong. You seem to think that for the clubs to be able to negotiate an official announcement was necessary. That is obviously complete nonsense.
