Gettin’ Guehi with it

I'm in the 'we need two' camp, Guehi and either a young CB or an experienced pro who is happy being fourth choice at a bigger club. I'll be miffed if we blow so much on Ekitke/Isak than we leave ourselves short at CB. I'd like a few more links surfacing in the coming weeks.

Gomez doesn't count, Endo needs to be used more often at six this year and Konate can go down for months.

I think it was Quansah's social life that was the issue. It's the only thing that makes sense. He's got the best stats for any CB of his age and he wanted to play for us.

Agree it would be bonkers for us to throw money at Isak and not have another couple of CBs instead. Would go into the season half expecting us to blow a great chance instead of being as optimistic as hell.

If his dressing room nickname wasn't OnlyQuans I'll be very disappointed

Guehi and Gomez will be sufficient. We also have Endo who can cover if we are ever in a dire state. Someone mentioned Endo is too short to be a CB, but he is only 4 cm shorter than Guehi and he has a great leap. We should be fine as long as we get 1 more CB in.

If we had a good up-and-comer in the reserves I'd be happy with one signing, but it appears that we don't, so lets bring in a good up-and-comer along with someone oven ready.

I am comfortable with Endo being used as a CB, given we will never start him in midfield. But we need someone else with him in the rotation pool. I also think this is best time for succession planning.

Being in the queue for twenty minutes only to find that the match is now sold out feels like a dry run for the disappointment of not getting any tickets for the league games

I'm a big believer in sods law.

Spend big on a player? - injury incoming
Try and maximise output in one player at the expense of others? Dry spell incoming
Go in to a season shorts or CBs? Injury crisis incoming

We need to get a CB in to not tempt the fates at the very least.
Are these the 'fates' from The Sandman? If so we're toast. They will claim their due and there is nothing nor anybody that can stop them!

How the hell does that work! I can already imagine massive confusion.

Apparently one third of languages don't differentiate, much like you don't have a separate word for top of your arm and bottom. Most of the languages that don't, don't wear long sleeves(warm countries) and therefore don't have cuffs which is the usual point where an arm becomes a hand. Irish is the only one that isn't from a warm country.

I'm not sure the scenarios where it's be confusing really. Handball might actually be clearer for one.

"Give me a hand" - someone then gives you a forearm smash.

And in English top to bottom of the arm goes from : 'wrist to forearm to elbow to upper-arm or bicep'.

But ⅓ not differentiating. Weird.

But you don't have a name for wrist to forearm, other than what you said? There are words for elbow, shoulder, fingers etc.

Anyway, I'm not arguing right or wrong, just saying what it is.
