Gettin’ Guehi with it

Edwards and co have known Parish for years. The papers saying we're looking for an agreement between clubs before talking wages with Guehi, out of respect.

Tbh our transfer team seems to have very good relationships with everyone, except Newcastle and maybe Real. They always emphasise how important it is.
We got 10M from real. Not too shabby.

Palace is a proper proper club with a manager I like. Would love it if he went there instead of Forest, Brentford, RB Leipzig, Spurs or some other dross club.

Rumours this morning that Palace interested in Elliott and clubs negotiating to work out a Guehi / Elliott exchange.

At the same time as it looks like Eze wants to go to Spurs - Harvey would be a decent replacement.

Agreed - plus Palace, should they discover or develop an Eze and then sell him on, aren't going to be able to replace him like for like anyway.

I'd like to see us sell Harvey at a reasonable rate to land Guehi and perhaps somehow convince Palace to dig in and keep Eze until we can buy him next summer.

Just heard Glasner say he needs Guehi for the 2nd leg 100%. The chairman came on next and said he has to sign a new contract or they'll need to "look at the situation" "over the next 11 days". So as far as I can tell, we're probably going to sign him on the final day of the window, after he's played as many games as he can for Palace.

Yes this seems the most likely route.

We have drawn our line in the sand at £35m.

Take it or leave it Palace.

Guehi signing a new contract at Palace seems the least likely option. I still suspect that his preference would be to stay at Palace all season and go for free next summer.

I don't know about Palace's squad at all or if they are linked with any players, but unless he had at least hinted at a new contract or they are at least willing to consider him going for free next year, it seems an odd strategy just to have him for a handful of games.

This reminds me of the only poor game I ever saw big Sami Hyypia play for us, when Dogbreath gave him the runaround. Sami was ill but still turned out as our back-ups weren't nearly good enough. Maybe Palace are that desperate to cover for a threadbare set of other options.

Do we still need him this season with the Italian boy in? Even if he comes when will he play?

We can either get him in Jan for 10-15m or on a free next season.

Palace can choose to play hardball but they have nothing on us.
