Gettin’ Guehi with it

That's exactly how it's supposed to be read. Jesus loves everyone. But certain people just want to be offended by everything and read malice into it.
I think, fundamentally, he didn't refuse to wear it (some players refused to wear the laces) so he gets credit for that, but I just felt like he'd written on it likely out of some pressure from his church to not be a bad example. And I think he could have just styled it out and not made an issue of it, and if anyone had then asked him to square it with his faith then he could have explained it all in that quiet, inoffensive manner he seems to have and it would have all been cool.
I also think, FWIW, that the modern church has its knickers in a twist over an issue so unimportant that it isn't mentioned once in any of the four gospels. Jesus did't have an issue, why should you?

Doesn’t look like this is gonna happen…..

Mind you, no news is good news…..

So who knows…..

What’s annoying is that they’ve had ages to look for replacements. It’s hardly been a secret

This whole armband thing - am I the only one reading it as less of a "Fuck the gays, I love Jesus" and more in a "Jesus loves everyone, including the gays" way?

I dunno. I literally know fuck all about it other than what I've read here, but simply writing "Jesus loves you" on a rainbow armband doesn't seem to me to be inherently insulting?

I don't know for sure, but I don't think it's that. He wrote I love Jesus first, and the second one was Jesus loves you. He's only written it on those armbands, he hasn't chosen to write it on anything else on the pitch. He was making a point that he's religious and the armband doesn't align with his version of it.

Honestly, why force players to do it?
In Sweden they tried to get players from our league to join the Pride parade. Guess how many showed up?

Yeah 0.

I'm not sure that's completely true, mate... Though there certainly are some like that out there, we were also experiencing kneeling against racism being criticized, BLM being treated like it was a bad thing, and our own skippers shown moving to a country that murders people for being gay. People were ready to push back, and though on this particular instance, many probably did jump too soon, I don't think it's 'coz they were just looking for another outrage.
This is the problem I'm trying to highlight.

You can't please everyone, all the time. There's always someone offended, whatever way you cut it.

He would get criticised wearing the pride armband by some, not wearing it there would be some criticising him, and trying to find a compromise between his faith and to show respect still, there will be some criticising him for that too (as they did).

My thoughts - do whatever makes you happy and try to be kind to others. I think that what he was obviously trying to do. Find a compromise and still show respect. But like I said, you can't please everyone, all the time.

The final piece of the jigsaw to conclude a fairly eventful summer's work.

It says a deal has been agreed but Palace won't finalise it.

Palace have to get a deal sheet in for any replacement before 7pm. Parish needs the cash and Glasner must know he was off.

Deal sheets signed by Palace for both Guehi & Canvot

Lets get it done.

If they keep him until Jan, it's probably going to be to the end of Jan. So they get something.

I think it's definitely meant to be a protest against the armband but it doesn't necessarily mean he hates gays. Just means his stupid religion says it's a sin and he takes that seriously. There are probably millions of people in the UK who think the same. As long it's just a powerless minority surely people should just respect his conviction.
