That's the move though, if you want to go to Madrid or you just want to be a free agent. He hasn't said that he won't extend yet though.
I get what you're saying but it's a bit weird that we don't have a willing buyer for Konate.Expect that, if the rumours are true, Madrid aren't offering us £35-40m, they're tapping up the player to get him for nothing next year. Palace are in a better place because in LFC they have a willing buyer who will pay that money, we don't have that with Konate.
And if what we're actually doing is hedging our bets thinking that we can sign the player next summer on a free if we don't shift Ibou for cash this summer, then we're no better than Madrid. I did get a vibe that this might be the tactic. We'd be screwing Palace as much as Madrid would be screwing us, arguably more so given he's their captain.
Its rumoured PSG are interested. My issue is if Guehi is his replacement who is Quansah's replacement as we can't trust Jo to stay fit. I suppose it can wait till the winter window to be addressed.I get what you're saying but it's a bit weird that we don't have a willing buyer for Konate.
I bet a lot of big clubs in Europe would love to have Konate. The problem is if he's made it clear that he only wants Real.
He should be replaced with young-ish defender, that would accept a 4th choice role. Or an older CB who wants to win shit before he retires. Its rumoured PSG are interested. Ya Madrid were kind enough to only go for our vice captain!Expect that, if the rumours are true, Madrid aren't offering us £35-40m, they're tapping up the player to get him for nothing next year. Looks like Konate will probably be sold. If that's the case we need PSG to bid so there is a a bidding war

I said "probably". I would be delighted if he commits to a new contract and we get Guehi but the noise is too loud to ignore that he isn't happyNo it doesn't. It doesn't even mention Konate - just you speculating !
Yeah not sure about that. Konate is super rapid, Konate is a bulldozer and can not be bullied, Konate has the height and is invaluable on crosses. I know which one I'd choose every day of the week. That said maybe Guehi next to VvD could possibly realise the potential for improvement.Guehi is roughly on a par - all things considered - with Konate (plus the extra 20% VVD partner improvement to come)…
If Ibou goes (and yes PSG interest is key) and we sign Guehi plus a Hato type then we’re well enough set with Gomez to hang around too.
Exactly how I see it. I mean just why would we? Sabotage our defence for £30m when we have no idea how Guehi will work out?I don't think there's any chance at all we sell Konate this summer. None.
Doesn't mean he'll sign a new contract but we're not selling him, Guehi or not.
