Gettin’ Guehi with it

The story goes that one of the main reasons Caicedo turned us down (and I’m generalising a bit here) was that Chelsea had done the leg work with his “people”, built a rapport, developed a relationship over time and we hadn’t maintained ours after looking at him early in his career - so it was easy for him to turn us down.

That’s just basic relationship management - the world works in building and maintaining good working relationships with people.

It doesn’t always work, obviously, but it’s a pretty good start.

Everything we’ve heard about Hughes points to this being his strength and it’s fucking gold - because while it looks like nothing that ability to get that connection and get people onboard with us is so very important.

I think that’s why we got Slot, that’s why Wirtz made it clear he wanted us, why Ekitike jumped once we went in for him, just look at what the Kerkez crew have to say about him.

I think it’s so, so important for our future.

Why am I saying this - I think, like with Issk, we’ll have done the “soft work” with Guehi that he knows he’ll be welcomed here one way or another, whether it’s now or at the end of the season and we’re willing to respect it if he wants to sit out this season at Palace - he’s the one we want, we aren’t playing the “panic and throw some money around” game.

So, I think he’ll reject Chelsea if they come in - he’s been, seen, done and been pushed out of there before - there’s a good chance he says no and prefers us.

That’s my take on it anyway - Leoni is a straight Quansah replacement that isn’t likely to play much unless he’s spectacularly good - unfortunately he probably doesn’t solve our problem at CB, regardless of whether you believe in the Italian Curse or not.

Nope, there's nothing in the Quran about Gays being thrown off buildings too. The Ottoman Caliphate decriminalised Homosexuality in 1858, sex and sexuality (in Islam) is a lot more complex and nuanced than media would let you believe
Yeah man... Of course Muhammad himself waited 3 years until Aisha stopped playing with dolls before he fucked her aged 9... it's not as simple as we think...

I hope we sign that Italian lad, Guehi is a midget isn't he?

I like Guehi and would be happy if we signed him, but I can't seem to get over the fact that he's a short arse.

Wiki has him at 6Ft - which is 1 inch shorter than Carragher.

We’re not talking that hobbit Utd reckon is their only decent CB here - but he’d need a bigger bloke beside him - as Carra needs Hypia.

Same height as Henchoz according to Wiki too - so it’s not the end of the world.

Yeah but during the course of the day people get shorter don't they... and I heard he apparently can't jump at all and loses every single header because he is like a fixed statue.

I don't know for sure i'm just relaying stuff I've heard.

Guehi wins about 50% of his headed duels. Thats quite the drop off from Konate and Virgil (72 and 73 %).
It might not be an issue as he excels in other parts of his game, but its not ideal.

Didn't work with Huijsen though, which is a waste because he would have sorted out our defence.

I think you underestimate the pulling power of Chelsea in this case.
He left in 2021, meaning he knows a few of the players, like Colwill, Chalobah and Reece James.
Guehi obviously lives in London too, so it means he doesn't have to move.

It's like a younger Conor Coady getting the chance to re-join LFC, you think he'd pick another team over us?

Yes, but we have more of a chance of winning silverware.

Not sure why you would want to upset people with the little shit you know? The Quran places mental maturity as condition for marriage on top of physical maturity, so Aisha's age is heavily disputed. There is serious academic papers disputing her age (including from Non-Muslim Scholars). The account for her age comes from a book which was published 150 years after her death. Unfortunately, most Muslims accept this account because at the end of the day like you they are sheeps, have been drilled to accept texts based on clergy's say so. They never ask, why the fuck would the Prophet tell his followers when he had sex? There are narrations of his wife picking off dry seamen off his clothes. Who would share that shit? No leader would. Its BS
He had children with 1 woman, his first wife, Khadija, so begs the question if he slept with the others. Most of them were divorced or widowed, so could have married them to give them shelter and security
The UK had an age of consent of 10 until 1861 upon which case it was raised to 12. So people in the UK were legally fucking kids during the Victorian era
Its a football forum but I am not going to let people demonise Muslims when the history of people in Europe and the West is far bloodier and evil. The Muslim world has crazy fuckers, but alot of that is down to our Governments exploiting other nations for their own ends. Salafism as a creed would not be creating the havoc its doing were it not for Western Governments complicity, encouragement and duplicity.
Extremist scholars like Omar Bakri was given refuge in the UK. I remember his cult addressing kids in 1990s, they got funding from Western Intelligence Services and the Saudis. These lot were the perfect bedfellows to defeat communism. However, the cult they created would turn on its masters as soon as their interests diverged and conflicted

Shit, BB gets all factual fair play. Never like actual facts and relativity of the time get in the way of a good old plain ignorence on here.

He might WANT to move. London really isn't that great, you know.

If he has a choice of two big clubs where he is likely to be competing for the big trophies then I suspect it will come down to whether he thinks he'll play regularly enough
