Decent attacking right-back option with added CB cover to City reject who hasn't trained on?

I'd imagine any fee would be circa 7m?

I fear if he was ever going to redeem himself and get back on track he'd have done it by now.

For 7mill, for a 26yr old right back, who's english, you can't go wrong. Our current right back is bollocks so he can't be any worse. Rodgers could work his magic on him.
Can't see city letting him leave, or for 7mill anyway, they're fucked for english players as it is.

Agreed.

But then I was in the minority of not particularly rating him as being all that special when everyone was signing his praises. In some ways he's a bit like in Enrique in that his game heavily relies on his natural athleticism. Take that away and what are you left with? Not particularly good on the ball, caught between CB and RB, poor positionally.

I'd rather stick with Wisdom, particularly when you consider the fact that he's probably on in excess of 80k a week. Let him go to somewhere like Sunderland and see if he can cut it there.

Richards looked like he had a lot of potential as a youngster, sadly that may have just been the fact that he has always been a bit massive.

He looks like he's about reached his maximum potential to me though, I don't think there's much in there left to unlock. £5-£7m ish would be about right but I think he'd be a sideways step and is likely on quite steep wages (certainly steeper than I think Liverpool's offer would be).

He's had the arguably best RB in the league ahead of him at City.
He's got potential, but at 26 he should have moved somewhere else 3-4 years ago.

The injuries are the biggest concern mind.

Wisdom reminds me of him alot, for the same reason you stated, "caught between CB and RB". I never really know where either of them are good enough, they're naive at centre back and awkward at right back.

Do you think they both thrived-- ahead of their age-mates-- because they were bigger and quicker at that time? And then, of course, their coaches never stretched them beyond their comfort zone.

I think Wisdom will play for England and prove himself at CB. In terms of attitude and ambition he's a world away from Richards.

Let's hope so. Richards seemingly had everything you wanted in a player but never stepped to the next level. By the way, I see similar clouds on the horizon with Jack Wilshere.

This is the player who, a few years ago, happily told sky sports news that his latest injury was the result of 'alcohol poisoning'. I know you can overstate that kind of stuff, but there's plenty out there about his antics in the Manchester club scene. He doesn't seem to possess any drive whatsoever.

Last year of contract, 18 games in all competitions in the last 2 seasons - that's just 3 more than Kelly by the way, and probably earning big wages relative to his appearances. 7m is having a laugh. QPR beckons.
