I wonder when we'll see news about Mo or Robbo for this one. Sounds like Milner & Matip are defo out as a precaution.

Some things I expect to see:
  • Gomez back at CB
  • Lauroci at LB if no Robbo
  • Keita to remain in the midfield three
It would be great to have Mo back up top, I don't know what we would do otherwise. Perhaps Ox more likely to start over Minamino if that happens? Lots of options/ possibilities, but largely because there are no 'clear' back ups for Mo or Robbo!

Salah, Robbo and Gomez in. We go again.

Also, I don't care if its Firmino or Minamino who plays up top, Firmino was poor, Minamino was better in my opinion, however we can't play both in our front three as we then have limited penetration.

Palace are playing well and are drilled at the back. Play like we did yesterday again, and it'll be another draw, and it'll be a decider against city.
If we have Robbo, Trent, Salah, Mane playing, I'm more confident in us getting a goal though.

I'd like to see us go on the front foot here and put Ox in the middle three, and if we need someone to cover Mo i'd rather have Elliot who knows that position rather than someone who doesn't.

An attacking LB is key also.

I think we'd also benefit by not having to use 2 of our subs for the defence, as being able to bring on fresh legs up top e.g. Elliot, Origi, Minamino etc. would have more impact I feel.

This will be a tough match. I wouldn't be surprised to see us drop points. Could be a spluttering, stuttering end to the season. City after these, right? Oof.

Palace will be similar to last night I reckon. More like a pre season match.

City will be the first match we treat like a proper game I reckon.

Not being funny, but why wouldn't we treat Weds like a proper match? Surely Klopp will want this League won asap. After that, he'll have more scope to look at different personnel and formations etc

I think both could be on the pitch if we also had 2 pacy players running off them - i.e. a 4-2-2-2 system with two de-facto #10’s. I’d like to see that at some point, it’s been effective when Shaq and Firmino did it. But just sticking Minamino on a wing clearly doesn’t work.

Cos the restart in the Bundesliga has seen shitloads of muscle injuries, & our restart has seen some already, plus we had two weeks less training before starting than in Germany, & the next season will probably start a couple of weeks after this one finishes.

Also, we rarely play well after any kind of break, so risking players who will almost certainly just then be contributing to a disjointed performance seems pointless.

Think about after the winter break. We were dreadful & made loads of changes, but scraped wins that were important as fuck, he'll be trying to do the same thing.

This is different though. The adrenaline, motivation and hunger with the League within sight ought to override any complications or hurdles like the aforementioned.

We’re going to go mental on them. Robbo is back.

[article]Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are in contention to face Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, but Liverpool will be without James Milner and Joel Matip.

Just don't lose, that's all I ask for! From now till the last match, don't lose. If we don't concede, we won't lose, so Lovren should not be on the pitch unless it's an emergency like the last one. Wijnaldum too should not be playing if he keeps losing possession and not able to track back (Keita is much better than him anyways), keep Keita fit and try scoring from outside the box.

It's not a sprint mate, we're a couple of miles ahead in a marathon. We can afford to pace ourselves & make sure we don't get injured, esp cos there's another marathon starting shortly after this one finishes.

Whereas City have to sprint to get up to speed for their two shorter races straight after this one, which could well disadvantage their performance in the next marathon.

I really don't get all the wailing & gnashing of teeth at all, this is a perfectly logical & rational approach.

Yeah, I think the focus is definitely partly on next season. But, it is a bit worrying that we were a bit shit before this break, and not much has changed, albeit only one game in. It'd be nice to have one or two good performances, but I'd take wrapping up the league and no injuries.

If Robbo is back I think we will win about 6-0 and we will all sleep very well tonight!

Minamino to get his first goal as a late sub.

Robbo and Salah will start.

Rumoured team:

Alisson
TAA Gomez Virgil Robbo
Hendo Fabinho Gini
Salah Firmino Mane

Palace are one of the lowest scoring teams in the league, we should be setting up to break them down as they will be on damage limitation. I would start Ox in the midfield 3 as hes one of few players that will take on a shot from distance or try and beat his man. We should have much more balance with Robbo and Salah back. Firmino needs to improve or be replaced earlier.

A draw is nailed on when that useless owl-faced turd comes along. Hope I'm wrong but we need to play a whole lot better than the other day to beat these. Salah and Robbo back should do it though.

Yeah, Salah will improve us a lot. Robbo aswell for that natural width on the left, and his energy and running.

We regularly beat Palace but I hate playing them. They're athletic, big, defend pretty well, dangerous on the counter and have some quick players.

Fortunately they just don't score many goals

We will have to put in a much better performance. The inclusion of Salah and Robertson should be enough. Keita deserves another go. Henderson also needs to be more creative and adventurous when he's got Fabinho alongside him.
